Oda surely must be setting up some confrontation between the Marines and CG, or else why have them issue bounties for Marines? Fujitora was the one who caused the Warlords to be disbanded, so it would make sense for him to hunt down these Warlords. Smoker has beef with Crocodile because of Alabasta, so it would make sense for him to take on Croc while Fuji fights Mihawk

But the best potential fight would be Hina versus Alvida. Think about it, a devil fruit that's about binding opponents in cages versus one that's about making the user as slippery at possible.

DR Law would destroy Crocodile. Both rely on their hax, but Law's is just that much more broken especially for Crocodile who isn't elite at pressuring opponents up close and lacks the haki portrayal and feats.

You can't say we need feats from Smoker and then on the other hand gas up Crocodile who also loses to all these characters by feats.

Vergo would be playing ping pong with Crocodile. Blitzing him left and right, this is the same dude who Law, even with Shambles, couldn't get his heart back from. Crocodile is deadly but he's never been an elite 1v1 combatant, his reactions, and overall CQC skills are severely lagging behind the likes of Vergo.

If you're gonna assume Crocodile got that much stronger (i.e awakened or something) I'm gonna say if Smoker comes back he'll also be much stronger, and also he has sea stone to neutralize Croc from up close. Smoker is quicker and better in CQC so he can def pressure Croc that way.
