Here I will go through an analysis, which considers more than what is simply said and seen. I will also lead you to thoughts that are outside the box as well as avoid some of Odaâs pitfalls, as he is giving us very much information in chapter 1090. We should be so smart as to analyse it properly.
If you are no fan of deep, causal analysis, this might not be for your liking and you want to only read the highlighted parts of the text or entirely skip this thread altogether.
Other readers, please enjoy.

Note that here in chapter 1090 we see the first hints that Oda is planning something big for the arcâs climax, which he had been long in the making (as we are now in the final arc). So, he obviously doesnât want us to get wind of what he has planned and letâs us stay in the dark as long as possible to make it even more surprising for us.
Right now, I want to underline something very important and central to the story, which many of you might also have figured out already.
For this, we have to go back to two chapters, which are summarizing Luffyâs last encounters with Kizaru. Take this one citation at first:
âIt takes more than effort alone to safe someone. Youâve got to have power.â Kizaru to Luffy in chapter 567.
This was said at a time, in which Luffy was desperate to safe his brother Ace from being executed by the WG. It is synonym for the pain he felt afterwards, when he made himself responsible for everything that had happened.
But you need to also take into account chapter 513, in which Luffy loses his whole crew to the attack led by Kizaru. In this chapter he cries out after everyone was scattered around the world with the words:
âI couldnât safe any of them!!!!â
This mirrors the chapter 567 only from Luffyâs own perspective and gives again a good impression of what is going on regarding his feelings.
His encounter with Kizaru was always characterized by Luffyâs lack of strength at both times (Marinefort and Sabaody), of being too weak to stand against the admiral and the overall force of the WG.
So, we should head into the Egghead-arcâs climax with this in the back of our mind. Because, both incidents are still weighting heavily upon Luffyâs shoulders and this arc will most probably be the time, he actually will have the power to safe more than his crew.
Concluding, as a first fact we have a very obvious one: Luffy will face Kizaru and fight him to safe his crew this time.
We also have to figure out what purpose this little time-skip, Oda inserted here, serves. Because, let me tell you that it is odd in the first place that we have now picked up at Egghead again and were beamed into the future to a point, where everything is almost settled and the crew is ready to leave the island again. We have skipped so much information that we are now missing much of the plot in between. Oda has rarely used this kind of strategy for his writing.
The question is, why would he do it now? Why would he skip ahead only to confront us with the end of the story? Unless there is something important that went on during that time-skip, which he doesnât want us to know of, yet. An important information that will be crucial in the overall plot ahead of us, and which is also already influencing the story of Egghead majorly.
So, fact two is: There is something very important, which happened during the time-skip and this something is influencing the current situation, but we are not aware of it, yet.
Moving on in the chapter, we have this call between the Gorosei and Luffy, which can only be described as `weird´ for two reasons: As the Gorosei are asking him how many alive persons are up there with him in the Labo-Stratum, Luffy is about to answer truthfully, or â in other words â blurting it out to them, like we know him doing so often.
First it is strange that the Gorosei would ask exactly this question to begin with. Why would they do that?
Furthermore, there is Robin, who intercepts the call and warns Luffy not to convey said information to the enemy. If you think about it, doesnât it come off as rather odd? Where have we seen Robin ever admonishing Luffy like this? I cannot pinpoint ever seeing her do so. If you can, please comment and I will add it here. Nonetheless, Oda uses her to prevent not only the Gorosei from knowing the true number of people here, but us as reader as well. We would have gotten the exact number from Luffy, because he is truthful (- and oftentimes a little dumb, like this time).
But after Luffyâs call to the Gorosei, it is Lilith instead, who conveys to us that Shaka and Pythagoras had died and are now dead.
I wonder, why Oda would use such a weird way to inform us in that roundabout way that two of the Satellites had perished? It comes off as odd and if you are as sensitive as me, than you might as well have noticed this little but very important detail. If you are not that sensitive than let me tell you â yes, this feels utmost odd.
It makes me believe that at least one of the two if not both of the Satellites are still alive. And I am utmost sure of this now, especially because of the oddness of how Oda shines light upon the question and lets the information slip to us.
And have you noticed something that is underlining that fact?
Lilith was making a grave mistake here in the chapter. She is crying over Shaka, Pythagoras and Edison, who are dead. Only for Atlas to tell her that Edison is actually alive and here. Donât you think it is strange for an intelligent person like Lilith to mix up, who of her friends had now died and who not? I do not think that is solely a joke from Odaâs side, but more of Lilith slipping up in who was now supposed to be dead and who was not.
So, the third thing, we can strongly assume is: One if not both, Shaka and Pythagoras are still alive.
And this brings me to Lilith again. If Luffy knows the exact number of people alive in the Labo-Stratum, than Lilith might as well. And her slip-up might even confirm said statement, I just made.
Only why would she lie?
She would need to lie if someone was in the room with them, who does not know that Shaka or Pythagoras or even both are actually alive. Furthermore, that person has to be untrustworthy for Lilith to need to lie here and he/she might even have connections to the WG.
That leaves Lucci and Kaku.
And this might be true as we see Lucci contacting Kizaru and Saturn to tell them what is going on in the Labo-Stratum and to inform them of the persons already dead and the ones, who are left alive.
Lucci is telling the Gorosei what Lilith did â that two Satellites are dead and the rest heavily wounded. So, he gives out the information that the side of the SHP wants the untrustworthy person to know and to convey to the upper ranks of the WG.
But look also closely to the conversation Saturn and Kizaru have after Lucci had called:
Saturn: âDid you hear that Borsalino?â
Kizaru: âYes ⌠Straw hat was talking arrogantly to deceive us that he is controlling the situation ⌠But it looks like we still have him cornered like a rat.â
If we analyse this, Kizaruâs sentence tells us that Lucci had told them that Luffy was trying to deceive them and that the pirates are not controlling the situation, but just trying to make it look like they do. But as we know, this is not what is going up there in the control room, as we are seeing that the SHP do clearly have control over the situation.
Why would the CP-agent lie so blatantly?
And think about this: The last time we saw Lucci, he was actually with Luffy. Luffy however knows exactly how many people are alive in the Labo-Stratum and wanted to convey that to the Gorosei earlier, only for Robin to stop him. So, since Lucci and Luffy were together just before the time-skip, it is highly likable that Lucci knows as well that Shaka and/or Pythagoras are still alive. There is a possibility however that both Luffy and Lucci had taken different ways after S-Bear was defeated, but how realistic is this?
That concludes one thing as fact four: Lucci is conveying false information to Saturn and Kizaru willingly and knowingly.
This brings me to why he is keeping his call to Saturn and Kizaru a secret. If Lucci does not even tell Kaku, his possibly most trusted friend, what he is doing, than this means he is on the side of the SHP, but actually most likely has an extended agenda in his head, that no one needs to know, yet, not even his friend.
So, if Lucci and Kaku are not the persons, because of whom Lilith is lying, than who is it?
For this to answer, we have to go back to chapter 1069, in which we see Stussy telling one of their underlings to âContact the navy.â
This is not that strange, but if you analyse the next chapters, it becomes actually utmost weird: Because she was working as a double agent at that time and is in reality working for Vegapunk for over 20 years. To make things clear: She would not have blown her cover as double agent if she had not ordered to contact the navy. But she did and I wonder why she did so, considering she made Vegapunkâs flight seem even more hopeless, since now, everyone has to face not only Kizaru, but 9 VA and over 100 marine ships. You donât do that if you are an ally.
Fact five is: Stussy is actually the reason why there are currently 9 VA and over 100 marine battle ships surrounding the island. The real traitor here is not Lucci or Kaku, it is actually Stussy.
(Note: If you want you can read a detailed explanation of why she seems more than someone, who needs to be considered to not be on Vegapunkâs side here)
I think everyone by now has noticed what Saturnâs opinion about humans are. He calls them insects and says that they will reproduce even when you kill a few. He makes clear how low he considers them to be and does not consider that he himself is one of them, too. In his mind, he regards himself as a god, but in truth, he is that, what he deems as being an insect and far below him. Ironic, is it not?
That also means, he does not shy back to sacrifice his men if he sees the need to do so.
What makes me heavily think is also the fact that Saturn clearly needs help from Kizaru in putting together a strategy, which does not end up causing heavy losses to the fleet. And this is odd, since Saturn is not in a position, in which he can give up the power to decide to one of his crew mates as easily as Luffy does. Saturn will have to strategize here even if he clearly has difficulties in this situation, which â[âŚ] is getting more complicated.â as he calls it, while doing a gesture with his hand, indicating that this thought process is complicated. If he is going to strategize during this incident, than I promise you, he will make at least one or two grave mistakes.
So, as fact six: We have a leader on the side of the WG, who is clearly not proficient in strategizing and does not shy back from sacrificing his own men.
By the way: While Egghead will focus on Luffy and his ability to finally make a point in being strong enough to be able to safe his friends, we have someone in a similar situation here:
The little conversation between Kaku and Lucci is very curious.
Kaku: âAaah! I still blame myself despite facing two of the Seraphim!â
Lucci: âI get how you feel. Try sleeping and forgetting it.â
This is very interesting. Here we have a Kaku, who was fighting two Seraphim, and obviously lost, because they were much stronger than him and it was to be expected that he was weaker and would loose. Nonetheless, he is still blaming himself for being too weak to stand his ground against those two.
And than we have a Lucci, who knows that feeling well and tells him to rest and forget. This means that at one point, Lucci was in a similar situation, in which he himself knew he had no chance against an opponent and was weak/could do nothing, but in the end still blamed himself for losing.
And when was Lucci ever weak? We only know him as a strong and proficient fighter since he was 13. But if you go further back to a six-year-old Lucci, before he even started his training to become a WG-agent/marine, this was the only time, he had been weak and vulnerable in his entire life. This also explains why Lucci snapped at Luffy after Luffy had mocked him with the fact that he was now stronger than the CP-agent. Our rubber boy hit that spot quite well without even knowing. And this also explains why Lucci thinks that a member of the WG has to be strong and is not allowed to be weak as he made clear against Nero. Because a WG-member always needs to be able to defend people, who cannot do so on their own (the innocent).
I tell you something very interesting: Do you remember what chapters I mentioned above? Look at chapter 513 again, in which Luffy breaks down, because he couldnât safe any of his friends from the attack lead by Kizaru â look on the cover page, there you will find a very interesting person depicted there.
This arc will most probably be the one, in which Luffy proves that he can protect his friends and crew, because he is now strong enough to defeat the enemy, he always struggled with in Sabaody and Marineford. And it will most probably also be the arc in which Lucci will face and overcome an enemy that is clearly too strong for him (100 battle ships, 9 VA, Kizaru and Saturn as a superior might), because he can rely on Luffy and everyone else for strength.
So, I hope I could make the situation here a little clearer for you.
Oh, and by the way. If you want to know what major information Oda hid with that short time-skip of his - here is some of it (maybe not all):
I hope you enjoyed this text as much as I enjoyed writing it. Comment down below, if you like.

Oh, and by the way. If you want to know what major information Oda hid with that short time-skip of his - here is some of it (maybe not all):
Fact seven: Shaka and Lucci are twins. Both have so much in common that it canât be a coincident that both characters are depicted as twin-like counterparts:
They often have the same posture:
They are ready to make sacrifices to reach their greater goal/missionâs end:
They use eloquent language and keep calm even in stressful situations:
(I think this is quite obvious and was shown in many panels - no pictures needed here)
They are very intelligent and strategically geniuses, which makes their colleagues often ask them what should be done, whenever strange situations arise (you also could say - they always have the strategical overview, other than Saturn đ ):
What those pictures clearly depict is: Lucci = Shaka, in almost every aspect in both of their characters.
And their names even reflect each other as well. Shaka is the reference to Buddah Shaka Nyorai, the personification of `Good´ in Japanese religion. And than we have Lucci as a short form for `Lucifer´ as the personification of `Evil´.
Both are equal to each other, which makes them twins.
Such a mirroring only could occur, either if Vegapunk has replicated Lucci as a robot or if Shaka is actually Lucciâs brother. And if Shaka is Lucciâs brother, than I am looking at the similarities we have in Marinefort, when Luffy had to safe his own brother Ace from the WG. Now, this shines a new light upon Shakaâs flight, right?
I could go on about the possible third brother currently on Egghead, but I think this would be too much of straying away from the main theme of this thread. Just note that there is most probably a third brother.
