It makes no sense to engage in a war which will cause your entire lifestyle to be disrupted to save someone who's strong and chose that lifestyle, it could serious endanger his wife and the island too since he probably knows how ruthless the marines are with their onslaughts.

No matter your logic for me its an L where ray is drinking and seeing the war where one can debate he could have travelled to MF to contribute.

Oda is clearly gonna use him as a plot tool to hinder his father (who’s already older and weaker anyway).

All so he could keep the fake tension and stakes with the Holy Knights going. Otherwise, those Hax regen merchants should be getting low diffed one by one vs a top tier.

Bro cooked. I think the idea here is to have SH and Loki resolve the conflict. Gaban being present is important for after arc narrative but he needed to he removed from the story as a fighting force.
That said does anyone really think Gaban is fully out. He'll probably fall near the monster trio and get patched up. Once the monster trio and Loki have the knowledge of how to bypass the regeneration it's game over for the HK.

Its possible he will fall to the Underworld as you said, but don't forget Chopper went after him too, so he might either catch him before he falls, or they both fall together to where Loki is.

And since Chopper is a doctor, he could also help Loki recover faster than Gerd could, making him an active player in the arc, while Gaban stays behind.

Can't have too many strong players in one place. One goes out, another comes to take his place.
