Speculations Garb was set up for moral booster purpose, Garling did the heavy lifting in God Valley, right?

I think we're getting a God Valley flashback soon so i'm betting on this now.

WG purposely painted Garb as the hero of the marines for moral booster reasons so others can join the marines and the organization as whole can feel better because of Garb's presence.

God Knights operate in secrecy so of course they wouldn't want a leader to be known in public. On top of that, keeping his powers hidden alongside with Dragon, Mihawk and Imu must mean he is really busted.

That would explain why Blackbeard tried to kill Shanks just like he did to others who played a part in his father's death.

That's his GV portrayal.



Saying this non-nonchalantly when they're 3 against whole crew of Yonko level pirates speaks volume.






It also makes sense to set him up as above Yonko level to hype Dragon who I believe will hype tool'ed him to avenge Ginny before getting hype tool'ed by Imu.

idk, we know Ace and Garp came looking for him.

I don't think Teach is a Doflamingo type dude who feels at some level that he has been screwed over really bad by anyone, and who really holds grudges.

I wonder what his sword will be.

Shanks and Shamrock has , Cerebrus and Gryphon. Both are mythical beasts...

But given their purpose
Gryphon - protects treasure , maybe one piece in shanks case.

Cerebrus - Gaurdian dog of hell , Gaurdian of Imu and Celestial dragon.

Garling purpose might explain his sword.

And basilisk means "small king", which could go hand-in-hand with the early translations of Garling's title as "king of MJ", while IMU, the "big king", is the king of the entire world.

It may be possible and Oda called Garling strong but the celestial dragons overall are bums

I don't.
Shams is the hound protecting hell/MJ. Shanks is the eagle who flew the nest & could bring the dawn (a la Griffith & the white hawk). Garling is either represented by an animal that stands side-by-side with the hound and the eagle (hence my suggestion of a serpent of sorts), or by an animal that births both hounds and eagles, like the echidna.

Cerebrus is a guarding Dog ,
Shanks is Eagle + Lion , not just eagle.
Garling symbolism to moon and wolf's like , Shanks and Mihawk rivalry. Where Shanks represent the werewolf side and mihawk Vampire/Dracula side...

I expect Garling to be wolf related only.

More like they were in his way.

Ace - would have been his YC1 if he had accepted or even junior partner. Aokiji accepted what Ace refused.

WB - BB said it himself, the old guy would never have lost Ace if he was anywhere close to his prime. BB respected him/s (power) and even delivered Ace whole.

Wang Zhi - had something BB wanted. If he had accepted a position as a Titanic captain or left quietly BB would likely have let him.

Garp - BB wasn't even there.

The guy is an opportunitist, not a sadist. But if somebody stands in his way he'll begin by offering a deal and if they refuse he takes them down. In a way it's similar to Kaido with Apoo, Hawkins, Kidd, Killer, Luffy. BB did offer Moriah a spot if I remember right, even "weak" Bonney as a crew mate (+ lover, and no he doesn't know her real age so its not paedo. He thinks she is 21 and not 12).
