General & Others Garp needs to take an L for this manga to be taken seriously

How is Luffy's greatest pirate king rival losing to Rayleigh beneficial?
It's implied the Blackbeard Pirates and Marines left due to Rayleigh's mediation, and Rayleigh admits Blackbeard would totally clap him due to his old age.

BB losing, winning, or drawing to Law has little to advance the rivaly unless Luffy has to somehow rescue Law and crew.
What are you talking about? Losing or drawing to Law would completely undermine Blackbeard's buildup. Read my subsequent reply to Sugoi to know why Law isn't beating Blackbeard anytime soon.

Law is more important to OP than half of the SHs.

Popularity poll? Really? Don't you think that's a bit non sequitur?

To be fair this is ignoring how Law successfully landed a lethal blow on Doflamingo. The countershock would've killed him if not for Doflamingo being able to stitch his organs back together

He obviously isn't as strong as Luffy but give the dude some credit here
The point I'm making is Kid and Law either achieve lesser version of Luffy's accomplishments or they're strictly hypetools for the villains.

Why is there such a huge lack of tension in one piece? It's because Lolda keeps clowning on all the bad guy antagonists just for cheap fanservice hype for the popular goody goody characters. People thought Oda shitted on greenbull because he hates marines, yet oda was more than happy to glorify Garp, ThE LegEnDarY HeRo. What's the difference? Because garp is a nice guy and greenbull is not. Imagine clowning a final war antagonist just for fanservice. But Lolda didn't stop there. He has now clowned on luffy's rival too. Antagonists and rivals in the dirt. "BBBUT MARINES AREN'T THE REAL ANTAGONIST ANYWAY, REAL VILLAINS ARE GOROSEI AND IMU ALL ABOVE ADMIRALS". This just shows how desperate the fandom actually is for tension and intimidating villains. Op fans literally have to HEADCANON THEIR OWN TENSION INTO THE STORY because deep down they know if things stay the way they are, we are going to get some boring micky mouse final war. Fans have no choice to but to pretend that oda is secretly storing all this tension in the form of 5 ugly old men. Some people are even hoping shanks has actually been a villain the whole time even if that means creating the most garbage nonsensical plot twist in manga history. That's how desperate people are

Even Blackbeard looks like a clown. Choking boa and running from old Rayleigh is not good enough hype for an endgame antagonist. But blackbeards crew is even worse. They have absolutely 0 hype so far. However, now Oda has a chance with the situation at Hachinosu. There are 3 choices Oda can make

Option 1: Shiryu/pizzaro/vasco kill or capture garp. (hypes up the blackbeard pirates as a powerfull, dangerous force and creates excitement for the future prospect of strawhats vs blackbeard pirates. Also creates some drama and emotion due to garps loss)

Option 2: Garp wins. (makes blackbeard's crew look like the biggest weakling clowns to the point that even after getting new devil fruits, they still cant beat an old man that just uses big punches)

Option 3: Trollda somehow inserts some interruption and avoids the conflict entirely and wastes all of our time

Hopefully Oda makes the right choice. Praying on Garp's downfall rn
garp is not a "goody goody".
he literally claimed to have no pity for a pirate, and was willing to let the man he adopted as a son be executed.
the fact that a character is not an edgy lunatic like kid and greenbull doesn't automatically make them a "goody goody".
just because members of the new generation have potential doesn't mean they should easily subdue the legends of the past. if that were the case, becoming a legend would mean nothing. garp and rayleigh need to be examples of how powerful legends are, to show that the journey of becoming a legend is difficult.

We have seen how useless BB crew are, even BB said it himself when the Seraphim showed up. One shot by Magellan, one fisted by Sengoku, one swinged by S-Hawk, mero mero'ed by Hancock and Burgees got clowned by Sabo. So, it's safe to assume they won't live up to the hype.

The scenario I can see is Garb fisting everyone and telling Sword to leave then Blackbeard shows up with a captured Law, goes mad and grabs Garb but not for long because of other parties involved who could pull surprises. There's Kuzan, Smoker, Sengoku, Moria, Cross Guild etc. BB will retreat as always when he sees himself outnumbered.
I just wanted to add after the latest chapter, BB crew got insta-frozed by Kuzan while Garb casually breaks his Ice Ball like nothing.

I'm having a hard time imagining how those clowns (except BB) will face the Straw Hats.

lets say it was beckman, yasopp and lucky roo instead, would you think they could take out old garp or nah
No, overrated character.
Yasopp is Van Augur's equivalent in Shanks crew and Van Augur is Usopp match, so you can guess his lvl.
Ben Beckman is a common YC1 until proven otherwise.
