Garp already contribute to this with letting Luffy pass him.

Day 4902 : no one blames a certain pirate for letting his captain's son die
He purposely let Ace die so the person he bet on can win this era.

This bet dialogue happened during Shanks & WB meeting. How could you forget this chapter, the first skysplit scene?

Ace was a retard and wasted all the effort his allies put in to save his ass. Not Garp's fault.
It's basically his character to do so.

Ace's entire narrative calling was his lack of identity outside of being called the son of Roger. He wanted to be PK to genuinely surpass his father's legacy.

Luffy, Dadan, Sabo, Whitebeard are the few people who valued Ace for who he was. And Ace responds by carrying them through his identity, his tattoos, his necklace similar to Dadan's etc,. He is just like Roger, in the sense that he will never Back down from a fight when these people who he particularly loves are being insulted/threatened.

Even when he was vastly outmatched as a child, he never backed down and stood his ground for Luffy.

It was Ace choice to be Pirate and like every choice you it has consequences.
Garp is THE Marine who upholds justice even if he is his grandson he has his duty, if he was trying everything to save criminal because he was his family he would be a hypocrite and the world would thing he is another corrupt Marine/High Officile that uses his power to keep his relatives out of punishment :kriwhat:
It was Koby choice to get himself caught by Teach
Every choice has its consequences

What justice did he hold when he protected slave owners at God Valley? Did that justice disappear?
Why didnt he stop or advise other marines to not burn down Ohara? Not hunt for Roger's wife by killing many women and kids?

This is the same gut who openly trashtalk CDs at the same time

He's already an hypocrite
Bring up new excuses
