Speculations Gear 6 - Luffy is Going to Evolve Like Shibai

#1
Hi Worstgen,

I think culturally... it makes sense that Luffy will die at the end of the series, but only in the sense that he will evolve and lose his physical form.

Why does this make sense?
- Culturally, the highest point of evolution for a person is when they become Enlightened. It's a point like directly before a person attains actual Godhood. So, I think the point of the story is that Luffy is Enlightened as Joyboy, but what that means is he is one step away from transcending humankind altogether. He has become less and less human over the stretch of the series. He has even crossed into God territory already in a sense.

Why would this happen?
- Because Luffy is either going to die from excessive abuse of his body or he's going to evolve and transcend his body and move on to The Heavens. His lifespan is already shortened.

So, what is Gear 6? Gear 6 is BEYOND the world (because Gear 5 was the world). I am being quite serious about this. If Luffy evolves his body by changing gears one more time, he is likely going to transcend humankind. He's already a, "God." as it is!!

So what you're saying is Luffy will basically become the one piece equivalent of a force ghost

This theory is pretty out there but pretty entertaining to say the least

I'm hoping for a world government victory in the end but hey we all have our own theories and head canons

Indeed. Strike him down, and he shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

You guys fail to realize that the entire point of the story is freedom.. Luffy thinks he's most free in Gear 5, but he's never even considered a Gear 6.

If he did, the next step is likely transcending his physical form. It's only logical.

The most free form would end up being whatever Gear 6 is. If he wants to be truly free, it's probably necessary for him to leave his body.

It would be accurate to call it being liberated from his earthly desires or something to that effect. Like eating. He wouldn't need to eat anymore. It's a restriction imposed on him by his body.

Urouge's ability only governs like 1 element of Buddhism.

What would make Urouge cooler is if he inherited a fruit from ancient times that an ancient tribe has kept hidden since the Void Century. Collecting it and recollecting it with a new champion to use it every time. Urouge being the new one.

I wouldn't want his fruit to be like Luffy's, though. I'd prefer he had his own twist like his fruit would instead be renowned as a God that governs certain spiritual laws but not others.

Another Battle God but with an emphasis on energy distribution and maintaining some kind of balance in the universe. Something like that.

You see... Urouge's fruit is unnamed (this was true of many of the Supernova). It may be coincidence, but it's possible that his fruit is deliberately unnamed.

If Oda forgot to tell us and he always meant to... it's probably a Karma-Karma Paramecia type.

But, if Oda intentionally didn't tell us what it was... it could mean it's because the Karma element of the fruit is part of a larger ability scheme. If it's a larger ability scheme, it could mean he has a fruit of a God that governs laws of energy distribution/karma.

"In developing his arguments, he inherently defined Ishvara as efficient cause, omnipotent, omniscient, infallible, giver of gifts, ability and meaning to humanity, divine creator of the world as well as the moral principles, and the unseen power that makes the karma doctrine work." Lord of Karma Ishvara

"He is the god of karma, justice, and retribution, and delivers results depending upon one's thoughts, speech, and deeds. Shani is the controller of longevity, misery, sorrow, old age, discipline, restriction, responsibility, delays, ambition, leadership, authority, humility, integrity, and wisdom born of experience." God of Karma, Justice, and Retribution Shani

Either of these two could work... but Shani would make more sense because Urouge actually talks about both karma and retribution when he uses attacks (and I'm positive his sense of justice is involved with things he does).

Note: The words Retribution and Karmic Punishment have been used interchangeably.
