With the gomu gomu no mi being revealed to be a zoan, there is one additional form we can be certain that Luffy has. A pure human form.
All zoan DFs have a pure human form, meaning Luffy must be able to deactivate the power of the gomu gomu no mi. A Gear Zero, if you will. But what is the point of this?
Well if Teach can negate the gomu gomu no mi, then Luffy needs to train his raw fighting skills in order to be able to defeat Teach.
By deactivating his own powers, Luffy will be able to undergo Garp’s battleship bags training. A training where the user uses no DF or haki.
In doing this, Luffy will obtain Garp’s immense physical strength. This on top of his advanced haki and Nika powers will ultimately make him the strongest pirate in OP. The Pirate King.
