But I predict that the demand for Messi that Barca want is no less than 150-possibly 200 mil, or even more, and plus those two players
And I’m just speculating though, but if Barca can’t convince him to stay anymore, they would definitely try to manage the selling price in order to have big profit in return (I mean, it’s their biggest player, for god sake), and that decision for me is still definitely better than keeping him the whole another season with him being less focused in the club, as well as they will be losing him after the next season for free if they won’t sell him now. And in case that Barca might succeed in convincing him to stay this year by forcing that 700Mil, while failing to convince him to stay for next year, which only would worsen the situation for Barca, since this time Messi might activate that clause to release himself free around May or June next year, and that would be game over for Barca.
And if Messi has really been serious about leaving recently, forcing him to stay might make him distracted and less motivated, as well as less committed to Barca, since his mind is not really in the club anymore in that case.
I know a lot of Barca fans are sad to see a legend like him go, but if that makes him happy and benefits the club financially, then it would be best to part ways. A much better decision than keeping a player that’s not really committed to the club anymore, while also risking to lose him for free next year.
A sad times in Barca indeed though.
