the guy I was talking to was someone from my Jewish community

First of all I'm refering to the way they say "Congresswoman Lauren Boert's son Tyle Boert has been charged with child abuse over incident with her grandson" instead of "Tyle Boert has been charge with child abuse over indicent with her own son". Just to be clear that it was against his own son. But sorry if I wasn't clear.

And second, child abuse... As far I could understand from this it was a simple case of the child managing to get out of the house and be walking at street on his own. Nothing on purpose or that never happened before. I myself got lost from my family at Zoo, ran away from my responsibles when walking on street. Is not child abuse. Pretty sure if that's the case he won't be condeem by it.

Is bad for her image of course but still is her son's actions and responsability, not hers. Although that indicates she couldn't properly parenting(where is his father also?).

And it is prejudice to not trust her just because she is her mother. Many mothers don't protect their son against the law because they believe that they should face consequences if they ever break it. But you are totally right if she lied at congress, which I have no idea.

The congresswoman's son was arrested in late February 2024 following a "string of vehicle trespass and property thefts in Rifle." He, along with three friends (the three friends were minors and Tyler Boebert was 18 at the time), were accused of stealing credit cards and other items from parked cars.
Tyler plead guilty to one count of identity theft with the intent to obtain an item of value. He was sentenced to a two-year deferred sentence, in addition to 80 hours of community service and pay court costs. The other charges were dropped as part of his plea deal.
He had previously faced 22 charges including four felony counts of "criminal possession ID documents - multiple victims," as well as one felony count of "conspiracy to commit a felony."
