Mr. Reloaded

Cause a pirate is free
As for the Little Mermaid specifically, this is clearly an attempt to gain some brownie points from the wackos on far left twitter should the movie bomb.

And it will keep happening because it works.

Movie looks kind of bland but I think Halle Bailey was a great casting choice. I also don't think fictional characters don't have to be set in stone on who plays them unless their race is a core element on their character.

Also it's hard for me to take any of the criticism serious when most of it is just racist dog whistling. There might be a point made, but I feel like it's always selective outrage as well.

1. Bro I'm talking about Donkey from Shrek not Donkey Kong. I know your reading comprehension is low but cmon
And donkey is also not human

2. Ariel isn't a human
mermaids are half human
half fish

with the upper body of a person and the lower body of a fish so yes the mermaids can have races cause they are indeed half human creatures

and to use your donkey example
it would be stupid if they made a shrek movie and casted a horse to play donkey tho they likely wouldt use animal actors cause their too lazy to train them

but imagine when people got annoyed that they didt try to get the character in the movie to represent how it did in the animation and called you horse phobic for not wanting horse representation
Why didt you want the donkey to be played by a horse, You realize that the donkeys run the world dont you think the rich minioity horse actors deserve a chance at staring in this flim over the bad and evil donkeys

Why do you want the shrek movie to have the characters look like it did in the carrtoon
Everything should be entirely different like puss in boots should be dogs in boots and princess fiana should be a black transgender girl cause screw it who gives a shit about the shrek movie being anything like idk the thing it's fucking adapting

The difference between a black woman and a white woman is different from the difference between a donkey and a horse, or a cat and a dog. Hope this helps

no it's fundamentally the same ideal in that
you are purposefully changing a element of the visual design to fit with your poltitical biases

and black people are as much like white people as donkeys are horses given both are able to produce fertile offspring despite the huge visual and somewhat genetic differences

And this ideal that leftists have is stupid, If you really want to help black people
cast a random black dude who needs the money not some already rich black person but this was never about helping people despite what you claim to say it was about virtue signaling and idealogical bs

you guys go lol who cares about race swaps but will screech about white washing classical black characters much to the same vain as you accuse people doing for white characters but it's different cause you are on the right side of history or whatever retarded leftists tell themselves these days tp justify their contradicting nonsense

Race swapping usually happens when a studio knows they are about to pump out some straight up creatively bankrupt garbage. These studios use anything non-white and not straight as a meat shield against valid, objective criticism when hastily regurgitating the sloppy seconds of a several decade old intellectual property.
The marketing teams and creative directors for these projects know exactly what they’re doing

Push some really dumb shit, and it will always get traction, bad publicity is still publicity, film does greater numbers, some people just go to shit on it, but don’t know they’ve been baited

YouTubers do the same shit for videos and shorts, all about cpm and engagement

I think it’s woke trash
If you’re not creative enough to come up with your own original characters then you shouldn’t be a creative producer simple. Full offense btw

Stop changing already existing and well established characters to fit a quite frankly redundant agenda

There’s a reason this garbage is the lowest rated animated series of all time

Hmmm personally? I Could careless if i'm being honest. They're kid's shows and cartoons meant to entertain and impact kids. If the people who have the rights to the characters want to change em, their choice.

Consumers have the choice not to support it with their money. For me it's just weird seeing men and women who are all grown getting heated over fictional cartoons and insulting each other (reddit/quora/twitter/etc are filled with it).

For example, If the one piece live action decided to make an all-japanese crew for the One Piece live action and Oda himself is fine with it despite the diversity in his series, I could careless. I only need to watch or read what I'll like. You just treat them as different characters, that's it. I already treat anime vs manga one piece as two completely different stories.

Attack on Titan even better example, it's based on a specific ethnicity, yet the live action is all Japanese. But I could careless, I didn't watch it due to the CGI and production not being something I like.

Kingdom was on point with their Chinese cast, but I didn't watch it cause hardly any of the mfs look like the actual cast.

It's only an issue for me if the creator of the original story isn't in agreement with it, that's it.
