In 1079, Kid suffered a temporary setback. Shanks destroyed him. He surely wants revenge now. Would make sense to ally with Shanks' greatest enemy, Blackbeard. Together they will defeat the Redhair Pirates. In Film Red it was implied that Shanks is from a Celestial Dragon bloodline. After Kid and Teach have dealt with Saint Shanks, they will come for the rest of them.
Kid is named after William Kidd, who sat in the Newgate Prison. Kid's backstory wasn't revelead in the SBS because he was gong to exit the story. Kid's backstory is similar to WB's which we also learned recently from Marco. Both Sphinx and Kid's home were denied protection from the World Government. They grew up in violent chaos and had to learn to defend themselves early. Of course Kid and WB hate the Celestial Dragons. Whitebeard pariticipated the God Valley incident, where he attacked World Nobles with Xebec. Kid parallels Whitebeard, so he will attack Celestial Dragons with Blackbeard.
