We could have Blackbeard cancelling out Luffy's nika powers and beating him, Kuzan beating Loki, Shiryu beating Zoro due to his lack of efficiency in obs haki, Sanji losing to burgess. These wouldn't be actual full blown duels but under the ruleset of a Davy Back fight and the BB pirates taking advantage of their gimmicks in them, making clear the weaknesses the strawhats have to work on, for when they have their real fight with the blackbeard pirates.

This is actually a brilliant speculation that SchizOda must capitalize on.

The Davy Back fight will have several story pros:

>Allow Luffy and Teach to meet up in an penultimate fight where Strawhats get mauled, serving as a learning experience before they win round 2

>Opening the door for possible Davy Jones introduction and lore, and his relationship with Imu/Joy Boy

>Solving the Loki dilemma. He can join Luffy first; then join Teach when Luffy loses the Davy Back

What you stated was a good summary of it, but I still hope that Shakky as the jewel was a red herring.

It'd be kind of cool for Oda to make a pivot into something like Xebec actually stealing Elbaf's devil fruit because Harald won't comply, and stashing it on Hachinosu until he can find the Galley-La Giants or something in hopes that an Oars-like giant with similar potential as Harald would be willing to work with him. And then the WG nixes that, and causes all the uproar (maybe Garp ultimately returning the fruit to Elbaf as a gesture of goodwill or something).
Anyway that's my 2cool4u headcanon that will instantly be proven worthless in like 2 chapters, thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

If this is the final battle and the Rocks crew is supposed to disband after that, does that mean Rocks' goal was just to save one woman?
Or does he mean that if they don't achieve their goal, this will be their last battle?
