Break Week God Valley Incident was a Singularity

#1
I'll start by saying this is not a troll thread nor want's it to become one so please keep that in mind when replaying or discussing the argument.

"The technological singularity—often called the singularity[1]—is an event in which technological growth accelerates beyond human control, producing unpredictable changes in human civilization " this is what a singularity is in tech, and from an One Piece World point this is what God Valley was for the story and events in the OP Universe from a characters perspective.

GV was not a tech event, but from how it developed it become one and the fact that the God of Science Saturn was there is a point in favor of this concept. As we all known it started with different elements that put together triggered the biggest thing since Joy Boy, THE WORLD its self had to come down and try to deal with it.

This singularity, as said by Saturn in the official translation "This is all so unexpected...there is a danger that such wanton destruction..might bring about the birth of something entirely new" from my point of view this was the cherry on the top.
Something new indeed was born from this event:
  • This was the spark that created the perfect storm that lead to the creation of the Revolutionary Army.
  • This is also the moment I identify as the moment when Roger's thirst to learn the truth truly began, this eventually lead to him being attributed by others the title of PK, which I believe for him had no real meaning as each person in Modern Age sees it as something a bit different( the most free man on see, the most powerful, the one with the biggest treasure etc.)
  • A new age of Piracy began, as from there 3 emperors ruled the sea till today and 2 new ones survived( Shanks and Teach).
I could add more but I want to leave room for discussion as I'm certain that Rocks, SWORD maybe, and other stuff might be mention by you.

I feel like "singularity" might be the wrong word for this. I think "inflection point" or even "shatterpoint" from Star Wars would fit better.

But, I agree with the broader idea. God Valley changed a lot of things in the world, all at once.

We've already seen it's how Rayleigh and Shakky got together. And it seems to be the supervillain origin story for Blackbeard. And Kaido and Kuma got their Devil Fruits here. All that alone would be enough to leave a impact on the world.

But, personally, I'm still expecting to see a few more things happen on God Valley.

Something has to break Kaido's spirit. After this, he's constantly trying to kill himself. But, right now, he doesn't seem to be suicidal. So...what changed? Was it just seeing Rocks die? Or something else? Either way, something's going to change Kaido's personality for the worse. Mind, that goes for most of the Rocks Pirates after this. But, Kaido kind of stands out, especially.

This might be the origin of SWORD. It's almost definitely what inspires Dragon to start the Revolutionaries. But, this could also be what inspires Garp to form SWORD. Now, I don't think we actually know that much about SWORD. It might have existed before God Valley or it might not have. But, there's a pretty good chance, this is what inspires Garp to either start or join SWORD.

There is the Buggy of it all. We've never seen how baby Buggy joined the Roger crew. We can pretty much guess how Shanks got onboard the Roger Pirates ship, now. And we've seen Blackbeard on this island. But, no hint of Buggy. And if we're going to see Buggy's origin story, I think it makes sense for us to see it during this flashback. I can't imagine Oda doing ANOTHER flashback like this, during this general time period. So, either we still need to see a bouncing baby Buggy on God Valley. Or we'll end up seeing baby Buggy during the "epilogue" to this flashback.

It'd be nice if we got to see what Captain John's treasure actually is. He lost Stussy, so maybe he took something else off God Valley that became his treasure?

Similarly, it'd be nice to see Miss Buckin steal some of Whitebeard's DNA in order to make Weevil. One way or another. Maybe Whitebeard ends up hospitalized fighting Imu, and she takes advantage of the situation then?

We still need to see if and how Rocks actually "died". And how God Valley ends up getting wiped off the map. I know a lot of people are expecting God Valley to end up having some connection to the Ancient Weapon Uranos, but I think we're going to see something else. If only because Uranos wouldn't have any sort of energy source, because Vegapunk hasn't finished making the Mother Flame yet, at this point in the timeline. I think we might just see Rocks explode from eating a second Devil Fruit. If there's ever going to be a opportunity to actually see someone explode due to eating more than one Devil Fruit, it's probably on God Valley, where there's a ton of them all gathered together. A Devil Fruit Explosion could be what destroys God Valley, AND explain why Garp and Roger had to team up to "stop" Rocks. More on that over here:

But, there's one BIG thing I want to talk about. Because, I think I have a idea of what Imu and Saturn were talking about when they said "something else" could be born from all this chaos.

I think they were talking about another Demon King forming. Like Tot Musica from Film Red. Oda has said before in a interview, that even if Film Red itself may not be "canon", the concept of Demon Kings likely will be relevant to the story at some point.
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Tot_Musica
reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/1kx6z7t/welp_demon_kings_are_canon_we_are_fcked/

Demon Kings seem to form from the negative emotions and desires of people. Basically the same as Devil Fruits, but probably from a different set of emotions. Negative emotions instead of positive ones, that sort of thing. I think Saturn and Imu were worried that all these battles and deaths and grudges would eventually turn into a Demon King. Which would be a bad thing, supposedly.

Now...I'm not sure why the Rabbit Hunt itself would be fine, but these battles wouldn't. But, that might have something to do with how Devil Fruits form versus how Demon Kings form. Maybe if a bunch of weak people despair and "wish" for things to have turned out differently, it produces Devil Fruits. But, if a bunch of strong people fight each other, and "wish" for each other's deaths, it forms a Demon King?

Maybe the entire purpose of the Rabbit Hunts is to "farm" new Devil Fruits, from the weak people who are having unfulfilled dreams flash before their eyes as they die? And a bunch of strong people with Haki showing up threatens to change the "formula" of what's going on. Producing "Demon Kings" from the strong warrior's wills clashing against each other? Or something to that effect, perhaps?

I don't know. It's a thought. And I like the idea. But, I have no idea if that's were Oda is going or not. But, God Valley could see either the "birth" of a new Demon King, or a "near birth", that everyone has to work together to stop. (Just imagine Imu teaming up with Garp, Rocks, and Roger against a Demon King!)

But, yeah, no doubt, a lot of stuff happened on God Valley. And I think it's pretty a lot of big stuff is still coming up in this flashback. So, we might still be here for a little while. Kind of crazy to think we might end up with a volume or two worth of this flashback by the end.

Oh I really enjoyed reading this and I must say i really like the concept you described for the formation of new Df or a DK. From Egghead we know DF might start from human desires/paths of evolution. What is more interesting about this and what you said is the Painting that we saw in elbaf that shows some kind of energy beein taken from the earth but what looked like winged people. Could that be souls, is it energy or human desires.

As you said kaido end up broken from this fight and I think it is because of Imu and how strong he/she is and the death of Rocks whom he considered one of the strongest. He came out from there with 2 big obsessions: death and power. I belive he wanted to go to marine Ford to fight and kill WB in part from what happened here in God Valley.

I agree with you on the other parts as well we need to understand how Buggy end up on the ship. He might be from the Davy clan as well. I also think that this was the break point for Garp as well he might be the creator of SWORD but for sure this was the point for him were he started to understand better things. He didn't left the marines because of his sense of justice but if he disliked the World's nobles before he now hates them, I think.

Your post was very nice hope we can discuss more this topics.

Yeah, personally, I am thinking that the "sparks" we see on the Chapter 1138 Mural is actually some sort of "Dream Energy". Some sort of primordial form of what would go on to form Devil Fruits. Basically, the equivalent to SAD that gets added to trees in order to make SMILE Fruits. Something similar probably happened during the Second World in order to create the Devil Fruits we know. "Dream Energy" getting added to trees, in order to grow Devil Fruits. Possibly even the Giant Trees we've seen all around the world, like in Ohara, or Wano, or Elbaph.

And if you look a little closer at that mural, you can see one of those "sparks" on Joyboy's army, on the left side of the tree, under "Emet" and the "Alabasta" ship, and above the Wano ship. It's the ONLY "spark" on Joyboy's side of the battle. Personally, I think that could specifically be the Flame Fruit. Given that it's gone to two of Luffy's brothers, I think the Flame Fruit has likely been a longtime ally of the Nika Fruit. It kind of makes sense for the Sun God to have the Flame Elemental as a "buddy" or "comrade-in-arms". So, I think it's pretty likely that someone on Joyboy's side likely had the Flame Fruit during the Second World.

Also, note the 3 "sparks" around the Biggest Moon and the "Winged Devil" on the right and left sides. I feel like that's probably a reference to Blackbeard, given his association with the number 3 and that image of him as a child crying at the moon. So I think the black "Winged Devil" entity on the left is likely a reference to something related to the Davy Clan.

Bringing this back to Demon Kings. I do wonder what the difference is between Demon Kings and "Gods" like Nika? Again, is it just being formed from positive or negative emotions or wishes, or is it something else? Can "Gods" only be formed by the purer "Dream Energy", while "Demon Kings" can form in other ways? Are they basically two factions of the same "species", as it were? Different cultures just calling them different things?

If we take my idea about the how Demon Kings are formed versus how Devil Fruits are formed into account, I think it could work a little something like this.

Devil Fruits are formed from weak people's wishes that they regret having unfulfilled. Dreams that want to live on.

Demon Kings are formed from strong people's hatred and disagreement with each other. Dreams that clash and grind against each other.

But, the Gods are formed when strong people all have the same dream and work together. Dreams that a group of people help grow and nurture together. A bunch of strong people, working together towards a common goal, creating a spirit that will help their "wish" come true. Like the Strawhats all working together to help Luffy become the Pirate King.

Kind of like a klaubatermann of a ship being formed from the love of the crew for that ship, now that I think about it. It'd just be the difference between a "household god" of a individual family and a "major god" of a region or of a concept. Klaubaterman may be related to the "Gods" in some form. Hmm...

I don't know, something to think about. I may be on the wrong track with ALL of this, I'll admit. It's hard to say where Oda's going to go.

I like it a lot

Not a singularity. More like a canon/nexus event for all the major characters in the world. It looks like if you are not connected to God Valley you are not important in this world.
Yes as we have seen basically all the big names were there, major players that changed the world in an event that changed it already. Looking forward to see the final stages of God Valley
