Are you talking about objective based writing, where we disect his story telling in relation to what he wants to put out, without throwing in what we wanted to see?

or

Are you talking about him telling the story differently than what the readers want?

If it's the former - Goda, his own writing and way of storytelling has improved a good amount compared to pre-TS & and the starting of post-TS.
If it's the latter - Lolda, hes shitting on what the fans are expecting left and right.

Move this to the section with all the VS threads and let the Boys in the Battledome hash it out :luuh:

In all seriousness, Goda started this series and remains in charge of it...but late at night, LOLda rears his malformed head and cackles as he adds several unimportant secondary characters to whatever arc is ongoing and provides flimsy justifications for the overabundant PIS we’ve seen recently. The two rage inside of their host body, which is why Oda the vessel gets so many GOD DAMN BREAKS :pepeanger:

Fucking Lolda ofc.

Dude's on a roll with how much shit he's able to deliver with the fandom eating up all of this without any demands for Quality.

Ace could be resurrected and they would still hype the shit out of Oda
I mean isn't that it for any sort of a fandom?

Kuzan can be Blackbeard's underling and people still think he's Sakazuki's equal. What can you do I mean.

On a serious note, @bold though that's mad disrespect. What are you demanding quality for? Are you paying the mf to write it? More than likely not, unless you have a secret deal with the dude. At best you'd be paying to see what he writes, that's your choice that you made. There is no mfin demand for the fans to make here, unless Oda gives a shit about fans' demands personally, which I highly doubt he does.

As for demanding... Like what are we supposed to do?? Go to his house and protest "heyy man you didn't fucking do justice to this drawing on paper!! I demand my 0 cents I put into your shit back!!"

We're grown ass men and women, if you don't like the product then stop supporting the product. But if you're continuously supporting the product while saying it's shit.. then it's sort of hypocritical. Why would he change anything when people are supporting it even though those people think it's shit??

Started as Goda up until the end of Impel Down and turned to mere Oda ever since then.

Second-half of WCI was even Lolda.

Going to be a fun thread.

But several things are at work here :

the first and the MAIN one for me : We grew up. I have spent 10 years+ reading One piece and what I could eat at 14/15 was different from what I can eat now at 26. So if I read the pre TS now maybe/likely I would like it less than when I read it the first time.
Because Oda doesn't really mature his story so there is now a little gap.

Then about the story itself : what I really love about One piece, was the humor, the interactions on the boat, the discovery etc. This is clearly what put One piece at the very top (shonen) for me. A feeling that can't be compared. I have less this feeling now than pre TS.

The plot now can be weird, but mostly in Wano I don't really feel the ties between the characters or the drama. It seems for me that the characters need to be in Wano, the arc was needed for the story to progress and we have to go throught it but that's it.

The age thing is so crucial; I started reading OP when I was 13, and now I’m turning 30 in a couple of months. Other than my family, One Piece is literally the only thing I had when I picked this series up that I still have now. Just like I am completely different after 17 years, so is the way this series is written AND the way I perceive it.
