Yes, Roger started the pirate era however the 1000+ chapters of One Piece has made Roger be some god who did something great. It wasn't even his treasure, it was all Joy Boy. Everything has now shifted away from Roger to Joy Boy. All Roger did was start the pirate era.

Yes, I already said I understand that however the build up and hype Oda surrounded Roger doesn't justify his accomplishments. Yes, finding the One Piece is a great accomplishment however Oda made Roger seem like some great mastermind God who was involved in the treasure. Now the focus is all about Joy Boy instead of Roger. Roger has now taken a back sit to the story.

I loved joyboy more than roger anyway, I love big mythos... but Ill agree with luffys DF being somewhat related to Joyboy is a little BS... straw hat maybe, but DF feels a little underwhelming for how big Joyboy as a mytho is....

Roger never felt to me like the main guy of lore... I mean even treasure from pirate who inspired him in real life has bigger legend behind it.... I love the way the story goes for real... so far the best time I ever had reading OP.
