He killed Daemon's destrier with a single punch and then twisted Daemon's head until it tore from his shoulders. He aimed to get the Iron Throne. Freakishly powerful and savage...MAELYS THE MONSTROUS

The Mountain can be outmanouvered, but he can't be overpowered. Maelys seem like a powerhouse, but I doubt he's on par with Gregor who can cut people in half with one swing while wielding his sword with one hand.

Is he a mindless gorilla? No.

Is the Mountain capable of outskilling any renowned fighter? Absolutely not, none of the best fighters in this series will get outskilled by Gregor.

The Mountain is a good warrior. And Oberyn won the fight (essentially) but things at one point did get dicey, with Oberyn in a headlong backward flight mere inches ahead of Gregor's greatsword slashing at him.

As for this one, I'm not sure. I wouldn't really be surprised if Maelys could completely match his brute strenght.
