Speculations Guess the Missing Celestial Houses

#1
So far we know 13 of the 20 Founding Families:
  • Bavette
  • Donquixote
  • Ethanbaron
  • Figarland
  • Jaygarcia
  • Manmayer
  • Marcus
  • Nefertari
  • Nerona
  • Rimoshifu
  • Satchels
  • Shepherd
  • Topman
Oda isn't following a clear pattern for them: some have real historical inspirations (Marcus, Nefertari, Nerona, Shepherd), some are composite names that sound european-aristocratic (Donquixote, Ethanbaron, Figarland, Jaygarcia, Manmayer) and some others sound more simple (Bavette, Satchels, Topman)...

Based on these few infos, I tried to be creative and came up with the following House names (99% of probability that none of these will be canon lol, but still):
  • Belmont --> Aristocratic, french-like vibe
  • D'Argenmont --> Like Belmont, but even more composite
  • Machiavel --> Historical tribute to Machiavelli, who's motto was "the end justifies the means" (kinda fitting for Celestial Dragons)
  • Munchausen --> Peculiar name, also references the movie that inspired the generic Celestial Dragon design
  • Lancelot --> Historical tribute to one of the most important Round Table Knights
  • Ricassian --> Historical sound and composite (Ri + Cassian)
  • Sylvester --> Or something that sounds similar to House Lannister
  • Von Bismarck --> Historical, composite german name
Again, i'm just being creative here, but do you think they could be fitting? Can you also come up with some?

It's pretty hard to guess. Initially (before the Gorosei were named), I thought that each family represented an important country/historical place, but there are actually inspirations from the same country:
  • Bavette: probably french;
  • Donquixote: Spain (clearly inspired from Don Quijote de la Mancha, written by Miguel de Cervantes);
  • Ethanbaron: mixed inspirations, but Nusjuro seems to be japanese (his main inspiration seems to be Hideki Tojo, PM of Japan during WWII);
  • Figarland: probably nordic;
  • Jaygarcia: spanish name, but Saturn seems to come from Giuseppe Garibaldi, an italian revolutionary;
  • Manmayer: probably german;
  • Marcus: probably latin (roman);
  • Nefertari: egyptian, from Queen Nefertari Meritmut, the royal wife of Pharaoh Ramesses II.
  • Nerona: also roman, from the Roman Emperor Nero.
  • Rimoshifu: probably chinese;
  • Satchels: probably english;
  • Shepherd: also english/scottish;
  • Topman: Warcury's inspiration clearly stems from Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union.
Not sure what can come next (the last ones, Bavette and Satchels, look really generic, so I don't think that Oda'll sweat it), but there are a few missing historical inspirations: Greece (Ancient Greece), India (Nanda, Maurya, Kushan and many other empires), Iraq (Akkadian Empire, Assyrian Empire), Iran (Achaemenid Empire, Sasanian Empire), Turkey (Ottoman Empire), Saudi Arabia (Rashidun, Umayyad, Abbasid and many other caliphates), Israel (Kindom of Israel/Kingdom of Judah), Mexico (Aztec Empire), among others. Here are some conjectures:

  • Aristippus (Ancient Greece): he was the "father" of hedonism, which dictate that pleasure is the only good (common among CDs). Cyrene, his birth place, could be used too. Epicurus would be more well known, but his philosophy (Epicureanism) was more ;
  • Maurya (Ancient India): Chandragupta Maurya was the founder of the Maurya Empire and was known for his ruthless tactics in expanding his empire through war and assassination, but my preferred would actually be Ashoka, as he was deemed to be incredibly cruel... but the name was already used in Star Wars.
  • Ashurbanipal (Neo-Assyrian Emperor, Ancient Mesopotamia/Iraq): I was thinking about akkadian names, but this one might be the best: he was considered one of the most brutal assyrian rulers, known to be merciless even to civilians.
  • Shapur (Ancient Iran): both Shapur I and II were sasanian emperors, but Shapur II was especially cruel with christians.
  • Selim (Ottoman/Turkish Empire): Selim I (The Grim / The Resolute) executed his own father, brothers and nephews to eliminate threats to his rule. He was known for being cold and ruthless, even by his own officials.
  • Yazid (Ummayyad Caliphate): controversial caliph, he killed Imam Husayn, grandson of Prophet Muhammad, and also sacked Medina and besieged against Mecca, the two holiest cities in Islam.
  • Joram (King of Judah): according to the Bible, he killed all his brothers after taking the throne, introduced idol worship and God punished him with a disease that caused his bowels to fall out.
  • Montezuma (Aztec Empire, extra name): Montezuma II was one of the last aztec emperors, he promoted thousand of sacrifices and suppressed dissent brutally.

Not sure if we'll get more non-european names (we have only 2 of 13 so far), but it would be nice to include a few middle eastern and mesoamerican names. (It seems that Oda won't think much about it though... 😂)
