What role do you think Gyro will play in the future?

I personally expect him to be one of the final antagonists of the story, and a very personal opponent for Gon, since we know that Gon and Gyro will inevitably meet:

I think it's safe to say that he is a very strong willed and special individual, especially considering he managed to keep his human memories even when he was turned into a Chimera:

Any thoughts on what nen ability he has? I have no particular idea, but I believe he will be a specialist(just a wild guess). I wonder what type of ant he was turned into? I would say a lion, because he's a former king, but we've already met a prominent lion chimera.

However, the thing that I find most interesting about Gyro is the relationship he had with his subordinates, which seems to be contrary to his views on the human race in general.

Currently, Gyro is believed to be in Meteor City by his former followers, but his current location is unknown. He could be on that boat for all we know.

Any other thoughts and theories on Gyro?

Personally, I'm insanely hyped for him. This guy is clearly the real deal.... his backstory was handled very well and there's so much mystique over him and his actions. He seems so different from villains like Chrollo and Meruem, but at the same time he gives he similar vibes to them.

I think he'll be somewhat of a hypocrite... and I think he'll basically be a perfect foil to both Gon and Killua. I think there's a possibility he may be able to help Gon get his nen back, but I'm not sure if I would be the biggest fan of that.

Very hard to say. But to be honest I expect some kind of subversion. One somehow connecting them to the DC?

Any thoughts on what nen ability he has? I have no particular idea, but I believe he will be a specialist(just a wild guess). I wonder what type of ant he was turned into? I would say a lion, because he's a former king, but we've already met a prominent lion chimera.

I see him as a Conjurer/Specialist, an ability that has a lot of limitations or is risky/hard to use. Hmm no idea what his animal mix could be, but I don't think it's going be anything with significant physical advantages, and because of his strong will, any wierd animal behavior would get easily suppressed

Welfin is probably of the opinion that Meteor City is probably the best place for Gyro to remain hiding as he plans/gathers followers, because it's essentially secluded from the world, just like NGL. And that makes sense. The announcement of the Kakin DC exploration should've been more reasons for him to stay in the human world.

I do think we will be getting some type of Time-Skip. Maybe from just spending that time with the expedition team, and then once we switch to the human world, years have passed, and the Gyro plot line becomes the focus to tie into the DC

He's attempting to create a new nation now starting all over, and with the mystique around him he's probably gonna be a major character.

The author went as far as to give him a full backstory and even set up the inevitable meeting with Gon in the future.

Unsure about final antagonist, not impossible but there's a lot of the dark continent to cover first who knows with what Togashi could have come up by then.

He has been built to be one of the final bad but I don't think if the story will ever reach that state, given the current hiatus we are on.

Eh, the problem is that I don't think even Gon will have a future role in HxH at this point.. If things go on like this I strongly doubt we will ever see him on panel or even just a mention somewhere, somewhen. It is sad but it is the harsh truth.

Then if we want to speculate imo yes, he was somewhat set to be some sort of "anti Gon" meaning he is the opposite of him just like BB is the opposite of Luffy but I doubt he could have become the final villain when we have stuff like this dark continent where even the ants and so Meruem should be sub par, also characters like Hisoka (even if he is "gray" as a villain and not a total evil-black one) have way more build up. But I think he would have been a character very similar to Pariston (incredibly smart and cunning but not a powerhouse at all). Now that I think about it Gon and Gyro could have been a parallel of the Gin-Pariston duo. The only relevant difference is that Gyro should be an ant so, probably, stronger than Pariston or at least I would see him not as a powerhouse but somebody with some broken hax to level the field with Gon, so powerwise some sort of 4th prince: not really strong with nen or anything but with a broken hatsu.

I never understood the crazy hype behind Gyro. Sure he has a bunch of things going for him. But was he acknowledged during the Dark Continent? I feel like after Chimera Ant arc, we just moved on. Lately the focus has shifted to Hisoka Chrollo Tserriednich as the big bads

I feel bad to say this but he seems like a Genthru esque villain

I'm definitely hyped for Gyro. He gives off a feeling similar to One Piece's Dragon except he is a baddie. I don't think he is going to be the "last boss". His nen powers can be anything. Though his willpower to maintain his past memories is insane.

Honestly my only issue with the anime was how they handled his moments in the arc. I was left so confused and so many anime watchers just sorta brushed right over him and forgot about him

I've deffo been hyped for Gyro and seeing what he will do. As you say he's been built up quite nicely so when or if lmao, let's face it if is more likely when it comes to HxH lmao, he shows up it should be great. He could be some big opponent for Gon.
