but slower and slower as we progressed to the new world we got to know how characters like mihawk and shanks stand at the top of the food chain despite having these " invincible " devil fruit users in the competition
kaido blatantly saying that haki surpasses all cause roger conquered the world using this ability
luffy further proving this as he uses haki as the main ability to overcome kaido's df ability
- haki is also the ability which gives normal humans the skill of interacting with logias
- haki doesnt only do that , but it can also negate the df user's hax abilities
we will use law as a major example in these points
- it was stated in punk hazard that being a haki user can make u block law's amputate
But ofc just being a haki user doesnt make u being capable of blocking devil fruit attacks
it also depends on how intense the haki and df relate to each other
if ur haki is greater than the df ability , then it will surely negate the effect
but if the df ability is greater than the opponent's haki , the opponent will get affected either way
u can use vergo as an example here
- vergo was stronger than smoker in haki
but law's df ability still cut vergo in half
this isnt something like vergo being weaker than his usual self
it was simply law who increased the power of his amputate to the point that he can affect even vergo
he simply increased the output of his df
doffy also taunted law by hyping vergo's haki but as u can see , law was a lot stronger than doffy realised and thus he went past vergo using his df ability
its not like he applied haki to his sword or somethin as a lot of people believe
applying haki to ur sword is another technique which swordsmen actually have to master and law hasnt showed any of that in his battle
and its not just techniques like amputate , later we saw doffy being able to negate MES too
it went from a spatial ability to a cheek scratch for doffy who partially dodged it
