Powers & Abilities Has Haki now Surpassed Devil fruits entirely?

A lot of people, me included, have been holding onto HAX as the thing that keeps Devil fruits as a power system equal to Haki.

Hax here means an immeasurable effect. Basically a no limits effect. I was sure Boa could turn ANYONE into rocks on contact without limit. Sugar could wipe out ANYONE from existence. Blackbeard could shutdown ANYONE’s powers. And of course, Law could fuck anyone up.

Now, it seems we’ve reached a limit. These powers are technically no longer hax. There is a measure of Haki strength that just makes you invulnerable to these abilities.

Sadly, I think now th debate is over. Haki is obviously better than Devil fruits now. Until we get into Awakening of course.

Yeah, think Oda just wrote himself into a corner with hax dfs such as Law's and Kumas.

Technically they could BFR anyone into the sea/ moon but then that would be far too hax agaisnt the top tiers, or they would be the actual top tiers of the verse with such powers.

So now he invents a random limit to make it not so messy of a story.

Haki is better than df as long as Oda doesn't need some df to make something. Imo they will always have some degree of freedom. An example is Sugar, if Usopp didn't save Luffy and Law they would have turned into toys and forgotten by everybody. Why? Cause their guard was totally off aka if you don't expect an attack an haxed df can still totally wreck you. Even if by this point haxed df user will be some helpers of the villain like usual (Suagar, the old hag for Orochi, or the old dude with the barrier fruit who stopped Oden's attack etc.) while people with top tier combat df (admirals, yonkos etc) will get both stronger df and haki than the other characters. Plus who knows, if you train a df enough it can overcome the hierarchy ratios aka the mera user beat the magu user. So maybe that can work a bit even vs haki.. Yet these are details Oda will never improve on most likely.

All we know is that haki can counter devil fruit hax to some extent, such extent is unknown.

Big Mom is much stronger and probably has got way better haki than Law and she was able to counter, we don't know to which extent one could be weaker than her and still manage.

I believe haki can counter DF hax but I wonder if physical strenght also matters into the equation. Doflamingo affirmed Vergo could work against Law's hax, we have no firm proof of that, but we can more safely suggest that he didn't get it wrong about the general rule at least.

Haki.

So, look at Shanks, Mihawk and Roger/Garp ...

But, a combination of Haki and Akuma no mi is also brutal, as are admirals/whitebeard and in the future Luffy/Teach.

but the fact is, that someone who uses only Haki, can reach the top tier, but a user of Akuna mi without using Haki, never could.

Its much easier for oda To just write battle using haki concept rather than diving into devil fruits. I would he just became lazy at this point.

Well how will the top notch fighters that don't use DF will complete?

I like that Haki is strong as or stronger cuz after all " Haki " is "will" which is a key point in the series.

The most scummy could get the most broken df so one with a great " will" being able to match the DF or more seems proper.
