Questions & Mysteries Has Oda forgotten about Killers SMILE situation?

Now I’m sure Oda hasn’t completely forgotten about the fact that Killer has been inflicted with the SMILE sickness, but does anybody else find it weird that Killer is barely laughing anymore? I think the only time he has laughed on the roof is chapter 1001. (Correct me if I’m wrong).

Is just as simple as he’s not laughing as much since he’s in combat? Could it be that his SMILE fruit is awakening? Or could Oda has just forgot to write Killer’s laugh in his dialogue?

We know smile user laugh instead of every other emotion. So the fruit is hardly connected to emotions.
from a few situations (for example marine ford with coby), we know strong emotions can trigger the haki Flow. So we Know there is some connection between the „willpower“ and emotions.

in an extreme fight situation like now, Killer as combat experienced fighter extremely concentrated, which surpresses every emotion, that’s why he isn’t laughing right now. Pretty common state for experienced fighters.
But I think when something happens that triggers the emotions extremely (f.e. A close Death situation, or seeing someone loved dying) in combination with his highly concentration an willpower, will trigger the fruit finally. The overflowing emotions then will just push the willpower and haki of Killer, which will make it possible to awaken the smile fruit.

So i think, very strong haki and willpower can awaken a smile fruit. If someone like shanks would eat a smile fruit, he would awaken it, I guess.

Probably Just doesn’t feel the need to write in the laughs. I guess it’s inconsistency but I don’t think it’s a big deal.

He obviously hasn’t forgotten a huge plot point and will properly resolve it later in

In the anime they got him laughing non stop, literally every second he’s on screen. It’ll be funny to see if they make him just stop laughing lol.

Well if something horrible happen to Kidd he might start laughing his ass again due to feel sad which could trigger his pleasure side.

I think currently he is on his prime focus, not feeling too exited nor sad, so ain't no emotion to be expressed therefore pleasure killer remain sleep within him in this particular situation.

Yeah, him being focused in battle is probably the best explanation for why he hasn’t been laughing nearly as much as before. Just found it a bit weird how he’s been talking just fine on the roof without any laughing all of a sudden. It’ll be interesting to see how the voice actor in the anime plays him during his dialogue. Because so far in the anime Killer has not any speaking lines besides him laughing lol.

The only speaking lines in the anime are in Ringo, when he fights Zoro but I suppose that right there his tone was much more deliring, while here in the raid his voice actor will probably be more cool and collected

He is still affected it would seem. I hope this drive will prove (is proving) a further boost against Kaido since I think he is hardly coveting for revenge. I also hope that this smile devil fruit will grant him some neat power boost of that I'm very skeptical.
