Hi everyone!

For my quick (lurking/posting) background:

Been lurking here for 3 weeks and I kinda like this place. Unlike the echo-ish Reddit, people here are not afraid to say what they think, and unlike /a/, they are not just trolling (for the most part).

- Favourite arc: Impel Down
- Favourite Character: Tamago

TLDR: I like OP related discussion and this place has much of it.

Many reasons:

-The DF is one of my favourites in the series.

-Very chill personality: he is reasonable and respectful (even to the person who took his eye). However his portrayal is still accurate: he is part of a pirate crew and as such, he doesn't back away from immorality and didn't blame Bege for (seemingly) killing Pekoms when the mission required it.

-Thinks like a real person: for example in a meeting, he said that the BMP had underestimated the SH Pirates and that they should stop being arrogant. Or, based on his knowledge of Pedro, he requested a sweet commander to guard the poneglyphs despite said sweet commander saying that it was overkill. Bonus point for wearing electric proof tights against an Electro user.

-I have a soft spot for characters that are strong but not amongst the strongest (for example: Perospero, Oven or Senior Pink). Maybe it's that they are usually less constrained by the narration which makes them look more organic (by that I mean characters that feel like they live in a story rather than living for it) while still being at least a bit relevant to the story.

-I like the design and how it changes based on the current form.

So yeah, I know he is not the most powerful or the most important character in One Piece and that my take is VERY subjective but he just left that much of an impression for me.

I never thought of his character like that. I forgot he was somewhat of a good guy for a Pirate. And I like big brother Peros as well.
