Especially since it's highly likely Luffy is related to him, Oda's not making both related to the same person. It's stupid to have Shanks secretly be Luffy's uncle/cousin or whatever

Why not? Luffy isn't gonna be a direct blood relative of Joyboy, that would kinda undermine the entire theme of the story. Shanks will be the "Child of Destiny" who is blood related to JB and who you'd think would carry on his will, while Luffy will be the kid who isn't directly related to him, but shares his dreams and ideals and is the spiritual successor

The only reason why the Roger Pirates even learned about them was because the HKs tried to retrieve Shanks from them. Why would other pirate top tiers know about them?

All top tiers at GV already did. Gaban didn't because he personally didn't see them, It seems.

Other than that, we know HK moves then the WG wants, so any pirate could actually meet them if they aim high enough.

Having said that, if you haven't noticed OP is now ALL about families and kinship (unfortunately), I don't really know what to tell you.
Even Shanks, who was a random boy with a different birthplace, got retconned into some super CD's son with a CD twin brother. Buggy too might even be the other Xebec's son.

Akainu's being the son of the ex Admiral Is basically the bare minimum.

That + Age checks + Akainu's hate + Oda talked three times about that incident but was the one and only thing that wasn't even hinted during the FB should have already been clear.

Unfortunately I might add. I hate kinship peace.

Age doesn't check for most of them. Aokiji and Aramaki are far too young. Fujitora was born two years After the events, so too young unless were are seeing Rouge 2.0

Kizaru...could be, in theory, but we saw him as child and he was quite happy. He doesn't really have an hate issue.

Akainu though Is both perfect as far as Age goes and explain his absolute justice hate boner. Not to mention more important and so more "whorty" narratively.
