So I think we can say that the general consensus is that the anime is not canon, any scene that expand on a panel but are not present in the manga are also not canon. The only canon things are strictly what have been revealed already in the manga. However for panels that may have multiple or ambiguous meaning are clarified by the anime for example King bleeding from Marco's attack or Zoro attacking Apoo from the front instead of sneak attacking Apoo etc.

These panels were clean. Expanding is different thing. Like carrot and pero . But changing panel and fight is different thing. For example , During onigashima , Oda draw numerous black lighting for advcoc users. Hakai is shown very clear spread panels. But thinking oda forgot to add black lighting for hakai is kinda funny.d That means toei changing something to increase quality and make fan service for fans. Not - canon .

Let's wait and see what Toei actually does. I think this is the same thing that might have happened with Jozu blocking/deflecting Mihawk's attack in the manga/anime. They were shown to be charging the attack, ACoC was not shown in the manga.

If there are discrepancies between manga and anime regarding on-screen events (especially fights) then the manga is clearly the ultimate source.

But when the anime extends events that in manga happen off screen then why should I not believe the anime?
For instance the anime shows how Zoro got separated from Luffy in Act 1 while in the manga is completely off screened, I tend to believe what is shown in the anime.

After all the anime staff is for sure closer to Oda and his editors than I am.
In that case Anime > My headcanon.

Yes anime sometimes can make mistakes due to lack of proper communication or maybe because meanwhile Oda changed his mind...After all retcons that cause inconsistencies are present even within the manga itself...

This is more or less what I also think but the problem is that sometimes the anime does things (Batman) that make it lose all credibility.

Doesnt make sense though. In the manga they didnt even notice zoro falling off, while in the anime they are having a convo about zoro staying behind. These 2 sinply dont work together.

Just disregard any filler from the anime, they dont deserve any benefit of the doubt
