The Zoro haters certainly don't use the parts of the anime to do the same for the purpose of downplaying :arnoling:

unnamed kick from sanji neg dif page 1 ?
or are oda tooooo lazy dor drawing black lighting ?

It's only canon for stuff we want to be canon.

Like Sanji not being able to beat Page One with RS

But other ridiculous stuff as Sanji brat Drake in base is non canon.

This question can either be answered with a solid yes or no.

yes = the anime serves as a completion to the source material, providing more details when necessary and filling in the gaps when needed, whether with the author's direct approval or not.

no = the anime is just another medium to consume the story from, and the manga remains the definitive original source material, where every decision is directly decided by the author himself and his editors.

there's honestly no objective answer to this, since Oda himself has been recommending fans to watch the anime too and has said many times that he chimes in to approve some things, but yet at the same time, the anime can directly contradict some of the manga's points.

Do we have any authentic info regarding Oda directing or giving directions of any sort to anime staff about things? Are there any instances where manga stuff has been retconned by changing the thing in the anime? For example Mihawk's attack getting blocked (there is no showing of Jozu deflecting it towards the sky) by Jozu in manga whereas it was rerouted towards the sky in the anime.

Different fanbases take different things from the anime to be canon while anything that shoots down their agenda is regarded as non-canon. I think Oda already said that he treats manga and anime as different mediums and allows the animation team to have certain liberties as the manga cannot be strictly converted to the anime. So this again begs the question should we treat anime as canon or not? How do we know if and when something has been retconned (I think there are a few examples of this happening in the manga when the volume or colored volumes are published)?

Anime has done things that just does not make any sense like the Batman vs Luffy and Zoro thing. Personally I think that we should not dismiss the whole of the anime as there are a lot of things which do not make any sense at all like characters not doing anything between panels or when they are off screened in the manga. You cannot expect characters to just stand after one action and then jump straight to another action if the manga switches to some other plot for a few panels and then switches back. But clearly there are things that do not make any sense at all that have been included in the manga like the Batman and Luffy sequence. A recent example would be BM and PP vs Marco and how long PP just keeps standing there before attacking Marco.

I mean the initial Marco vs King where King talks about testing Marco's immortality has no manga counterpart so I would lean more towards this sequence not being canon but at the same time we have no idea what was happening during the whole time on the live floor between Chopper getting the vial from Zoro and making the cure. Were we just going to see Marco, King and Queen staring at each other and waiting for Chopper to make the cure?

The manga shows the beginning and the end, the anime sometimes shows the middle, as long as it doesn't contradict the manga I'll take it as canon.
For example, Carrot was going to solo Pedospero in the anime, that's canon to me since manga Pedo confirmed that he was about to lose to the sulong form.
Jack > army of sulong minks
Sulong Carrot > Pedospero
Thanks Toei! :saden:

It isn’t, just like every single other anime adaptation in the history of manga. If it happens in the former but not the latter, it’s non-canon, full stop. This is how it has always been, will truly never understand why this is so hard for some of you to grasp :halt:

By canon, you obviously mean the manga's story. The answer is no because the anime isn't the manga but rather a 97% accurate replica of it. Could anime-original scenes for offscreen moments be how it was done in the manga? "Probably" is the best answer.

ask zorobois, they will say any sanji feat that wasnt in manga isnt canon, but any zoro feat that wasnt is
All these years of anime and Lanjitards woke up one day and decided that filler was canon because he "won" against Drake, the King of Lanjitards even made videos to confirm that the anime is canon!
But then came the reality check, Lanji gets fodderized by literally everyone from Kanjuro to gifters, fodderized by Page1, b-but he oneshotted Page1...King toyed with the princess, fodderized and captured by prostitutes and the crying never stopped, Toei hates Lanji they said... but it's Zorobois fault that the cook is fodder and gets portrayed as such. :vistalaugh:

None at all. It's even more filler than Strong World Movie.
