Controversial How dark would you make One Piece?

So after reviewing yet another Pudding age argument on Twitter. I've come to start to wonder if people don't realize just what this manga could be if it wasn't for kids. Like I mean we're dealing with a world of pirates for gods sakes. And even Pirates of the Carribean which was also for kids had it's questionable content that was hinted.

Like the OP world has slavery and human trafficking everywhere in the world for crying out loud, the dark stuff is already hinted at, fanfic writers taking it further to play in the world that Oda made.

So, corrupt government, pirates, dystopian world, slavery. If you were to write the story what darker elements would you add or increase?

I know for me, I'd up the slavery and trafficking to be seen on other crews. Like Blackbeards, you can't tell me that creep isn't keeping a collection.

2) have many half-fishmen marine soldiers created by systematic breeding or rape of fishwomen
3) Kuzan shooting ice crystals that grow massively once they hit the target (basically like Obito's wood things)
4) Tenryubito having a non-interbreeding policy. They would abduct female civilians, have their fun and execute them to avoid half bloods
5) make Shanks a (cartel) druglord like Pablo Escobar. Sympathetic in public, unbelievably cruel in the backstage
6) akainu's awakening turning touched living people into literal magma

The probelm with the story isn't that it isn't dark enough imo
It's that the dark stuff that happens, happens only in the past with actual consequences

In the present we have people seemingly die all around the main cast, which could be used to hammer down the reality of the world they're in. Yet miraculously virtually everyone lives in the end

I'd rather have Kinemon die and this be a pivotal point for Momo to decide to grow stronger and strengthen his Haki.
Also I'd have Guernica's death be outright confirmed and the reason for the G5 photo to be that the only remaining agent, Joseph, took it as revenge because he hates the WG for getting Guernica killed.
Izou and Ashura live, as they have no logical reason to die to CP0 randoms.
Etc.

There are some really dark stuff to be sure, but the way subjects like death are often treated, it can be hard to take any of it seriously. I like dark stuff in general, though OP’s tone is very specific. It’s mostly a comedic adventure, though it has drama. If I could change anything, it’d certainly be the resurrection of deceased characters.

It didn't have to be dark, but more realistic, more thrilling, where for dumb actions comes consequences, and where dead Kinemon didn't return to life.
