Questions & Mysteries How did Mihawk become the WSS?

#1
So it’s a simple question, how did Mihawk become the WSS? Not here to trash, but rather to ask the origin of obtaining such title.

Did Mihawk defeat the previous WSS ? If yes why haven’t we heard of him?

Did he defeat Shanks? No. He was equal to him 12+ years ago and never fought after Shanks lost the arm or when he became an emperor.

Did he defeat Fuji? Don’t think so(obviously not)

Did he defeat Ray back in his prime? Doesn’t seem like it.

Did he defeat Vista a renowned swordsman? No, he only met him in MF and the fight got stopped(not saying he couldn’t, but the only on panel worthy he got a chance to defeat)

He didn’t even go to Wano a swordsmen heaven to prove his superiority.

So far we haven’t seen much note worthy swordsmen falling by his hands so let alone the top tier ones. Just how did he get the title when he never fought any of them!

How is he stronger than Shanks a guy he didn’t fight for 12+ years when we know Shanks gotten stronger and only became a yonko 6 years ago.

again this is not to trash Mihawk. However, I just wanted to know your thoughts on the matter.

Wano is a country that was closed under Kaidou's rule before Roger was executed (Mihawk was a teenager at that time).
And Kaidou himself says the country is full of hopeless losers after Oden died.
Basically Oden was the only "strong" guy in Wano & Mihawk achieved what the Sword God did and Oden couldn't - forge a Black Sword.

Using Mihawk not going to Wano to slander him is stupid lol.

The same way how Kaido became WSC and how Whitebeard became WSM.
By the author deciding so. Neither of them has beaten previous holders of those titles.
Nor did the story attach those titles to anyone else.
It is a pure narrative decision to highlight those 3 individuals as the strongest characters.
In case anyone doubts Mihawk, name a superior haki feat to forging the strongest weapon in the world. :myman:
