General & Others How diverse is One piece world landscape compared to other manga ?

I did not read much other manga so I dont know. But one piece has really beautiful and diverse islands with different landscapes like Zou , Skypiea , Sabaody , Fishman island , Wano , Totto, Punk Hazard, Torino, Water seven and so.

In diversity of landscapes is One Piece there at the top compared to the other manga , and is this one of things that made him so popular ?

I doubt there is going to be a manga with as much of a diverse range of environmental designs as One Piece since Oda set up some good lore foundations to make the world of OP to be as diverse as possible.

The entire world of OP consists of nothing but loads of islands and each island has its own unique design courtesy of Oda and the lore he established. Really, it is a perfect system for generating as many environmental designs as possible. Then Oda still managed to trump that system with things Sky Island, Fishman Island and Zou.

Oda is incredibly creative at designs, both character designs and environmental designs. It is probably one of his greatest strengths as a mangaka.

Other mangas focus on story or character rather than focusing on a bunch of diverse settings. Funny how most of the settings he creates have nothing to do with the story. A lot of these settings can be combined without any loss to the story. Dude wanted to make Tontatta land its own separate arc. Only FMI and Wano are the only two settings that have anything to do with the story.

The landscapes are amazing and yes each country has their own culture which makes it very interesting to go to new islands. Which honestly makes sense as all trade seems to go through one centralized location so exchanging of culture is quite limited. Only thing I wish was if oda experimented more with other countries having other languages to kinda make Robins role a bit more impactful throughout the arc rather than just at the end of it.

You’d just have people ignoring any intricacies of different languages to do “language scaling.”
That’s unfortunately what a lot of One Piece discourse has been reduced to.

You need to think most mangas doesnt have the scale of OP

and each arc is taking in a different island while most mangas spend there time in 4 or 5 loactions with far less chapters

world building in OP is a dream I just hope we will have open world game of OP where we can sail like Luffy to all islands plus extra islands

Probably the most diverse.Every arc takes place in a different place. Most of Naruto revolved around Konoha.

This is One Piece greatest strength.

I can recall from memory, Toriko having similar variety, but it's less countries and civilization And more wild nature.

But OP take these dozens countries, some medieval, some high tech all on its world building.
