It is one thing for the mc to not be your favorite, but to hate the mc and still read the story is really weird, especially one where the story revolves solely around the mc.

Luffy was likeable in the pre time skip, even a good MC. But now Oda has focused on him way too much. It is not that I dislike him but for sure it is annoying. The problem is that at this point a lot of people have read this manga for.. decades and want to see how it ends despite everything.

I guess because I like Zoro and several other characters.
But Luffy's BS is increasingly starting to outweigh the joy I get from my favorites.

Seriously, bro, if you grow up like me, watching pre Timeskip One piece's sad, dramatic, and emotional moment, PLUS listening to those pre Timeskip adventurous, bittersweet, Opening and Ending songs... You would love One Piece more than your first love.

And this is a huge emotional and time sacrifice and/or investment.

While I like Luffy you can hate a mc but love the world they are in. Example I hate tacamichi from Tokyo revengers but really like the show. Liking or hating the mc doesn't mean liking or hating a show. The show is more than just the mc if it was nobody but Luffy die hard would watch op.

It’s certainly odd, but I can understand if it’s one of those people that are obsessed with some other Strawhat.

What I find really strange is that some people profess to not like any of the Strawhats at all and yet still read the series.
