Questions & Mysteries How does Mihawk Casually navigate around the world?

#1
Oda goes out of his way to explain how hard it is to navigate in the OP world and give many different groups many specific gimmicks to pull this off

the marines get seastone to pass through the calm belt. The Amazons get those giant snakes to help push their ships across the calm belt. The strawhats gets Nami. Morgans has a flying machine

Mihawk is just some guy. Some guy on a raft. he somehow crossed the calm belt with no injuries and no wind to catch up to Don Krieg. He went from paradise to Buggy’s island in the new world while he was being hunted by the marines WITH NO PROBLEM

How is he both navigating just the ridiculous grandline weather and how is he just crossing the red line and calm belt without any of the things we are told you need to cross those places, while also being hunted and shit.

It’s like all the rules around navigation Oda established for the entire world randomly don’t apply to this one guy. Like where the fuck did he even learn navigation from while he was sword training and learning farming and cooking too?

That's literally what his Introduction did
U just started reading One Piece & what did you learn?

Grand Line is Brutal
You need a Strong Ship
You can't Roam between Seas Freely
Almost Everyone Fail or Abandon their Impossible Dreams
You need Powerful & Reliable Crew
Weather is Unforgivable
Even Fleets might struggle to Survive
This World is all about the Fun & Excitement of chasing your Goal
Shanks is Legendary Pirate that MC looks up to (More than Anyone Else, except Roger)

Then this Guy is Introduced, Travels between Oceans cuz his Nap was Interrupted, He is Worse than Grand Line itself, the Disastrous Weather actually Saves others from Him, Travels in a Small Boat that is a Coffin (Resting Place, as if He indirectly saying He is chilling), already Achieved his Goal, Accepted Worldwide to be Greatest Swordsman, Sanji calls him Strongest Man, He is One of Ten MC's Endgame Goals, He is Extremely Bored, Trash Talk the MC's Inspirational Figure (Shanks) & says He isn't Interested in Fighting Him (Oda even drew his Non-Commanders Afraid to see Mihawk, even though They are under Red-Hair Flag & in his Presence), He have Best Weapon & i can go on & on

And to make all of this obvious, what did Oda Name his Introduction Chapter? Storm
What do you think Storm represents? It represents "End of The Line", you can't face a Storm, you only Avoid it

Even Law when He wants to Threaten CDs, what did He say? He said "D. will bring another Storm"
When Luffy faced his First Major Villain (Crocodile), how did He defeat him? With Technique Named "Gomu Gomu No Storm"
And there are Dozen other Examples

Mihawk's Introduction wasn't Created to Hype his Sword Skills, He literally showcased Nothing
It was to tell us that this Guy is like a Storm in World of One Piece, He doesn't chase Dreams, He "Ends" them

And when Final Arc arrives, you will realize that there are "Ten Storms" that must be Removed
They represent Obstacles to each of SHs Ten Dreams
For example, Robin's Storm is World Government itself
Chopper's Storm is gonna be some World Ending Sickness
Nami's Storm is gonna be some Real Stormy Weather
Franky's Storm gonna be some Target He must Overcome with his Ship ... etc

Luffy & Zoro's Storms are Mihawk & Final Villain, They aren't an Organization or an Event or a Kingdom or a Disease ... etc
Just Two Fighters

If you go to Chapter when Luffy recruited Zoro, Narrator said that They don't know They just made a Huge Mistake
People thought that Narrator was talking about their Poor Navigational Skills, but it's not the case, because Zoro was already Traveling & got Lost way before He met Luffy, and same for Luffy who was already shown struggling before He met Koby

What do you think is this Huge Mistake? D. Will Bring Another Storm
Meaning Luffy is gonna Cause Final Villain to Show-Up
And Zoro already Attracted Attention of his own Storm that Mihawk (As i said, Chapter Title reveals it all)

So Luffy/Zoro's Huge Mistake is that forming SH Crew will lead to an Event where Final Villain + Mihawk are gonna be Forced into Action
If you Remove these Two from Story, then the World wouldn't witness True Power of Final Villain & Mihawk

Well, if Rayleigh can cross the Calm Belt swimming, why can't Mihawk sail the Grand Line on his coffin boat? The dangers (Sea Kings, pirates, etc.) really aren't a problem, but his navigation skills are at least above average though. Even if he usually takes the safest routes, the Grand Line is unpredicable sometimes.

Also, does his boat have an anchor or something like that for him to rest? Or he navigates for days without sleeping? That would be something to behold.

It's Mihawk man :kayneshrug:

Regarding weather we have seen clouds agglomerating when conquerors build tension and prepare for a clash. CoC most likely has an effect on the environment through pressure or something. This might help avoid storms etc. The rest is unclear. Also the question how he got up that backward stream to enter or leave the Grand Line. Surely there are multiple ways to travel.

I don't know why but I always saw a feat like this fitting very much to Mihawk

He surely has his ways.
You know. Since he has no magic divine world destroying devil fruit to carry his ass or enable him to fly in general.

Same way Aokiji casually travels around the world on a bicycle I guess?
Aokiji doesn’t travel around the world. Just coz we have seen him travel between a few islands doesn’t mean he travels around the world… Mihawk is directly stated to have gotten me around the world to fight people solo… and we have seen him cross oceans solo…
Post automatically merged:

My guy Ace traveled from the new world to drum island on that thing that I wouldn’t even call a boat! It’s not impossible for someone like Mihawk to be capable of doing that and even on a much higher level.
@BOCCHI we saw in Ace’s cover story that he regularly jumps on ships when he has to sleep and eat so no, Ace ain’t like that
