The fight was bad… queen’s primary purpose in this series was to provide a good fight for Sanji and the fight was bad… So… Notice how everyone started enjoying King way more just coz Zoro is struggling a bit… Nothing about King’s personality has changed from before the fight, he’s simply providing an actual good fight and that’s great

Queen was worse than trash, a joke that got 2 tapped by BM, paired with Chopper...but suddenly he was FM level and Oda broke the commander status quo and made him on par with his superior.

We saw more of his fighting abilities and learned more about his background. Before that he was really a background character. He got some personality and his fight against Zoro is great so far.
No wonder people like him more after his fight against Zoro
