2 years! I still believe that this could end by 2027. Maybe spilling into 2028. I'm sticking to my guns on this.

Look, I just don't think Oda has that much left in his tank. His health is getting a little worse every year, and he is slowing down. He NEEDS to wrap this up sooner rather than later, just for his own health. I would honestly rather get a rushed ending made by Oda himself, rather than getting someone else trying to finish up Oda's work for him after he keels over from overworking himself. Even asking for two or three more years feels a little selfish, honestly. But, that's the absolute minimum that I think he can do this in.

Even just the last year, we've gotten two chapters that were forced to be released in incomplete or rushed states. Chapter 1098 (Kuma's flashback) and Chapter 1127 (Legoland where the weapon on Luffy's back changes and Nami's tattoos disappear from panel to panel). The aggressive schedule is clearly starting to take a toll on the quality of his work.

That's not even taking into account all the OTHER projects he tries to oversee in order to ensure the quality of this media empire he's built up. The Live Action trips, the Anime, the new Movie pitches, the Vivre Cards, the TCG, the Lego sets, etc. When Oda takes "time off", I don't actually think he's resting, he's probably just working on all these OTHER projects. It's too much for ANYONE to handle, especially a aging man who doesn't take care of himself as well as he probably should. Something needs to give. And that's probably the manga.

I still believe this ends somewhere in the low 1200s. Probably less than 1250 chapters. If he continues to be able to put out 32 or so chapters a year, we could make that by the end of 2027.

Maybe it's cope, but I do think Elbaph could end this year. Luffy, Zoro, and Nami will probably run into some new Gods Knights as they teleport into the Castle to back up Shamrock. Then Luffy makes a quick trip with the Key to free Loki and fight Shamrock. Then Loki travels to the Heaven Layer and does something to destroy Yggdrasil and really kick off the Final War. This could all happen within the next 10 to 15 chapters.

After that, there's really only five other places we really need to go before the end.

We need to go to Hachinosu, so that Robin can get her hands on the last Rio Poneglyph or maybe free Pudding.

We need to meet The Man Marked By Flames, so that Robin can get the last Road Poneglyph and find the way to Laugh Tale.

We need to go to Lodestar...probably. It's one of the last places we know about. So, I do think SOMETHING will end up happening there. I'm just not sure what.

And then we just need to get to Laugh Tale to end off the story.

And then we need to get to the other side of Reverse Mountain in order to meet up with Laboon again. But, that's like 1 epilogue chapter. That doesn't need to be super long.

Everything else, to me is optional. And I do feel like Hachinosu and MMBF and Lodestar and maybe even part of Laugh Tale could all be combined into one big "Final War" arc. That one all together might be 60 or 80 chapters.

So, yeah, I'm still betting that there's only around 100 chapters left. Maybe a little less than that at this point.

I know that seems like it'd be rushed. And, yeah, it's probably going to feel a bit rushed. But, that's kind of just Japanese storytelling in general. Japanese storytelling usually has a rushed ending, almost on purpose, since a lot of art forms in Japan follow a Jo-ha-kyu or Kishotenketsu structure. Wherein the ending takes a relatively short part of the overall story.

It's just a more common storytelling method in Japan. I do think that when the ending comes, it will likely come quicker than most Western fans like. I'm sorry, but I can just see it coming.

I could be very wrong. Maybe I'm delusional. But, I still think this is likely the course we're taking.

First, let’s talk about what needs to happen first, there is a lot

Rev showing
Cross guild showing
Old generation (could be done in epilogue/spin off/movie)
Some power ups for straw hats
Backstories of Admirals+some others
Void century
Zoro vs mihawk
Holy knight reveals
Final war
Man with burn scar
Ryuma showing
Reunions of characters (Brook and Laboon, Franky and IceBerg, Ussop and Kaya, etc, could happen in epilogue)
Lots of fights
Gorosei in general
Mihawk vs Shanks (could save for movie)
Aokiji vs Akainu (could save for movie)
What rhe one piece is
Mihawk
Enel’s return (could happen in movie)
Kid come back
Shiki (could happen in movie like what they did for Broly, Broly wasnt canon and was defeated back in early Z then came back in a canon movie in super with his power updated and his personality changed a bit)
Laughtale
Imu’s plan
Luffy’s dream
Some/a major character dying such as Rayleigh, shanks, etc
Other Roger pirates
Ancient weapon reveals
Other stuff….

So, I believe oda could wrap up the story in 7 or so years but they could still make other spin offs, movies, etc, but the anime yeah that’s not ending

Quoting the kishotenketsu only to then offer a nonsense estimation of 2 years!
In 2 years we're barely getting Loki's and Shamrock's backstories.
We have Shanks, BB, Akainu, Dragon, JoyBoy, the 2 Nikas, Laugh Tale, the SHs dreams, Lili/Vivi, Boa and the love sickness, Mihawk, Kaido's and BM's proper endings, Xebec, Garp, Urouge, the Seraphim, the Ancient Weapons, that ugly VP, the flood, the relationship between fishmen and humans, etc. -- and these are still just the overall threads that Oda needs to incorporate in the story, to say nothing then of properly interweaving and concluding them, and without forgetting all the little secondary and tertiary plots and characters that fit in-between.
All of this alone is 4 to 6 year material. Add to it the bad pacing and the constant introduction of new characters, and it becomes clear that expecting this to end before the decade is done is pure hopium.

We average 37 chapters per year. Even if Oda were to turn all the remaining arcs into 2-year arcs (which he already showed in Egghead to NOT be able to do), we would still have 8 years ahead of us with the present material. And you know he won't hesitate to introduce at least a couple of side characters per arc, which themselves require more and more chapters.

If egghead alone took 2+ years (with most offscreen fight and plot)
Then let's calculate
Remaining Elbaph
Laugh tale, Final war,
And in between that there's enormous amount of story pieces to complete....
Current Yonko, Marines, Rev army, all huge factions, many backstories need to be revealed too
At this stage I won't be surprised if Oda left out some of them and offscreen many things and also many high profile character would have very less screentime and really did nothing in the end.
Coz no way Oda could deliver all of them piece by piece.

Even then, it would still take minimum 8+ years. Knowing Egghead took 2 years just involving Bonney, VP story with many people getting sidelined.
