Character Discussion How old is Kuzan in the flashback?

#8
This looks like it's even more in the past that his fight against Don Chinjao. But definitely after God Valley.

Which puts into perspective that Garp was never close to be Roger's equal since he had to train for years to defeat 500million belly worth Don Chinjao.

Garp = Koby confirmed !

Akainu, also known as Sakazuki, enlisted in the army two years before Kuzan, and although his age is slightly different, he is also called a monster recruit just like Kuzan.
He enlisted in the Navy 30 years ago at the age of 18. At that time, he
was called a "monster recruit" and was taught from the beginning.
This is what volume 1000 says about Kuzan: A monster recruit who doesn't even
need to be taught (just getting scolded)
Note: Kuzan
*Actually, Garp is my biggest
benefactor, so my
relationship with my former instructor...
Up until two years ago, Kuzan was one of the three
generals, and after being taught by Garp, he grew even stronger.
Eten also translated this:

When Aokiji joined the navy he was called the recruited monster and possessed a great fighting force, so at first he didn’t have anything to learn from the marine, but he later gained more power through Garp’s teaching.

Or that he was a monster cuz he had an ice logia before joining the navy
That would explain why he was hurting/feeling pain when punching the battleship (which has a hull made out of seastone to ward away sea beasts)

Was Kuzan training at a handicap? Or am I looking too much into this and its just the ship hardness?
