In the anime, Kale and Caulifla were given the potato earrings, but it would have been much wiser to give them to Hit and Botamo. Hit was about as strong as SSBK Goku, and although Botamo’s power level in relation to Hit’s is so minuscule that adding it on wouldn’t change much, it was stated by Vadodara that potara fusion not only adds the two people’s power levels together, but then proceeds to multiply it’s power level by several dozens of times. The power boost alone would elevate Hit from SSBK Goku level to much stronger than Kefla and probably in Jiren territory. However, what would make this fusion truly frightening is not the fact that it boosts Hit’s power level several dozens of times, but that fact that it create a being with the two most hax abilities on Team U6, with those being Hit’s time skip and Botamo’s damage nullification. Unlike with Botamo, who’s a far weakling that was overly reliant on his hax ability to such an extent that any competent fighter could just pick him up and throw him off the ring, this fusion would easily have the power to make such a method of elimination even for the likes of Jiren and MUI Goku, thus making it impossible for anyone in the TOP to knock this guy off the ring. The fact that Champa, Fuwa, Vados, or even Hit (who is shown to be exceptionally smart) never thought of this pretty basic strategy is extreme PIS, though Kale and Caulifla were obviously chosen for the sake of fanservice

Hit should have attempted to grow during the tournament by challenging compelling but still feasible opponents instead of challenging Jiren so blatantly then the universe could have stood a better chance.
