General & Others I always thought kid will end up a villian

Oda's style of writing is kinda mid, or at least it has been post skip. Like instead of the main conflict focusing on the SHs directly, its focused on the main villain and the people of whatever island the SHs are on.
This allows Oda to write OP forever and ever because he never actually needs to develop the SHs and can develop side characters(scabbards, rebecca, ect.) in their place.
Kid would have been a more interesting villain than Doffy or Katakuri, as he actually has a relationship with Luffy. But Oda doesn't want villains who have a relationship with Luffy. He wants faceless island bosses.

Kidd having a bounty bigger than luffy was already dumb since he never defeated any navy members, warlords, didn't declare a war against the WG, even afraid to move against a CD. who he defeated actually to deserve that amount of bounty ? So imagine how many civilians he has killed.
Even during rooftop, he was just a passenger in a train who helped to push away big mom from above.
Same in 2 vs 1, pushed from above a nerfed big mom.
And here 3b for you lol when we are not even sure if he can take katakuri, marco, King, ben beckman (n°2 of any crew) In 1 vs 1 ...
I saw some making fun of others (zkk fans for example) but they shouldn't forget that before rooftop, and during 4 years, kidd wanted Kaido's head that he gave up on 2 sec. Some will bring some excuses but it's what it is.
The moment zoro one shotted killer, we all knew luffy will stomp kidd also. Imagine current luffy vs current kidd now.

I never expected him to be a villain nor an enemy of the straw hats from the get go. They had kind of a friendly competition the moment they met each other in Sabaody, you can throw in Law as well.
And their relationship didn't change at all. Or maybe a little bit but it went towards friendship.
Now it's too late anyway, his crew isn't strong enough to rival Luffy's one. I have to say I was a bit harsh on his character during Wano but after a reread, he was ok, not the badass and biggest threat to Luffy his fandom wants him to be but still a funny character at times with some bravado.
His fighting style however is a big letdown for me.
