I apologise vs I'm sorry

both are acceptable, but i'd prefer to hear 'i apologize' as it's indicative of the person who wronged me having some accountability.
but saying stuff like 'please forgive me' is unacceptable. such words are a product of entitlement, not remorse/understanding of personal errors. a sure sign of lack of accountability.
that being said, avoiding repeat offending is much more important than a verbal apology. actions > words.
