Miura clearly didn’t plan on who Guts would be post-Golden Age when he drew Guts having sex with an apostle. Casca probably did not exist at all back then.

So the Apostles in Berserk are basically humans that become demonic beings.

So there is a 10 year old girl who ends up becoming an Apostle by sacrificing her father to the demon gods (iirc).

This now 10 year old girl turned demonic being is able to turn others into miniature bee demons. So she uses this ability to turn all of the children of her village into bee demons, and then they produce other bee demons…basically you have an army of childlike bee demons with altered personalities as a result of the fact that they are like, demons. Lol

So anyway the childlike bee demons decide to play battle. So they split into two sides, and as if they are like, children playing in the school yard, proceed to slaughter each other in gory detail. And then the winning side….has their way…with the losing side. This all happens on panel. Lol

The series isn't meant to be retelling of China's history. It's a romanticized and heavily exaggerated retelling of history. The horse looking goofy and on steroids is all part of it, no different than the 8ft Chinese dude who got on PEDs since he was a child with big ol lips.
