General & Others I prefer Boruto as a character more than Naruto.

I will get killed by edgy Naruto fans but I wanted to say this. Boruto to me feels like a much deeper and well thought out character than Naruto, who is the most generic anime main character ever. He is happy, dumb, friendly and inspirational. While Boruto is interesting and good in the sense that he is different.
Boruto also wishes to be aknowledged, but from his father. In Naruto's case he wanted to become the Hokage to be recognised by the village. In Boruto he just wants his dad to aknowledge him. Even going to such extends to cheat in the chuunin exams. "Maybe if you had talked to me earlier I wouldn't have done that".
His resentment is that other villagers see him as privilliged for being the Hokage's son, while Boruto himself hates the fact his dad is the Hokage. He resents him because he feels like his dad ignores him and his family. He is mad that his father isn't there for his birthday but says "Who needs that stupid old man anyway?", pretending he doesn't care for him either way mobdro kodi.
While Naruto's sadness is that he doesn't have a family, Boruto's anger is that he does, but he feels like his father is absent and doesn't care for his wife and daughter.
Idk, Boruto's character, problems, personality and all seem much more realistic than Naruto's. Naruto fans non stop shit on Boruto for not being perfect like his father, while I think his character is way better because of that. If Boruto was the same as Naruto he would've been redundant and boring, but the fact he is so different while realistic is what makes him interesting.

Boruto has the same personality as his father what are you even talking about? Difference between naruto was a orphan without parents and so his bratty personality made sense as he wanted attention however boruto, there's no real reason. it's copy and paste without the nuance which made the original work

Naruto's a great character for me. People say he's the "generic shonen protagonist" but I feel like the more correct take is that many newer shonen anime base their protagonists off of him. The difference is that those characters tend to have his traits knocked up to the extreme without the internal conflicts & flaws that Naruto actually deals with throughout the course of the series

Boruto is just a copy of Naruto minus an actual valid reason for being a brat
Entirely agree, I think another great point that people forget was that naruto had to grow as a character to gain new powers rarely ever was things just given to him like to even learn shadow clones or kage bushin, he had to get nearly killed by mizuki and get entirely isolated from everyone
boruto just gets given, karma by momoshiki never earned it just gets given jougan to toneri never earned it
