It takes time to learn and master a Devil Fruit... Forget about even awakening one.

Like I said, it's too late in the game. Especially with Franky, who is heavily tech focused, and we've yet to see the extent of that. Oda is not going to abandon all that, and start Franky anew with powering up and mastering a Devil Fruit, when there is so much to be explored with cybernetics its not even funny.

We've finally reached the point of the story where technology is getting massive focus, but yeah, let's just drop that and give the Technology based Straw Hat a Devil Fruit.
