So let’s imagine if the world government was democratically elected, the five elders are not necessarily celestial dragons but they’re the top elected politicians from around the world.
Most royalties abdicated the throne and are replaced by political parties and the ones that didn’t only have honorary roles with no real authority.
Taxes go towards healthcare, education and to feed poor countries.
So this version of the world government represents the people to a greater extent than the in-story version.
Would going against such world government necessarily make one a terrorist rather than a revolutionary/pirate? Like this government does represent the people but they wronged my friends, so I gotta fight them even if they are the authority (especially those with defiant personalities).
