I'd pick DFs, but ideally haki needs to exist in some form to control logias and hax, as well as explain top tiers who don't use DFs.
Personally I think haki needs to:
a. Be less complicated with more consistent indicators.
b. Not be hereditary
c. Actually sync more with DFs to be unique
For example using haki to buff and evolve your DF power as well as countering others.
Like imagine if Akainu's super hot magma that can burn fire and the ocean was a result of his haki comboing with his fruit
You could even connect haki to awakenings that way - a DF awakens when the user's haki is strong enough.
Another thing would be haki being more specialized, thus giving different hakimen their areas of proficiency. So basically more Vergo types.

I'd remove Haki, but
There was nothing creative with Enel and Crocodile lol. Luffy was a direct counter for Enel because of his rubber fruit and literally just coated his hands with blood for crocodile. Both fights had to be solved by finding hard counters for the devil fruit, not creative. Strawhats vs Oars was creative. Cracker vs Luffy was creative.

Not even in terms of writing. Crocodile vs Luffy was bullshit. You're telling me Crocodile, with years of piracy under his belt, didn't find ways to neutralize his weakness to water? Also, it doesnt even make sense. A but of blood on your fist shouldn't be able to make you punch sand. Enel too, we didn't even see him do shit in his last and ultimate form. He just stood there and tried to block Luffy's golden punch and got clapped. Shit was ass
Yeah true but there is still creativity with how powers interact. You’re talking about how Crocodile wasn’t more clever when he killed Goffy twice. Also with all due respect to Croco writing, the elements oh him being veteran pirate and whatever only came to Oda’s mind during Marineford war. As for Enel yes it’s bad he didn’t do anything.
