Interestingly related to this topic, this was a form of torture used in Iran in 2005 or so.. It's called "White Room" or "White Torture"... everything is literally white - the room, the light, the clothes, the food etc.. you see nothing but white, and you hear nothing (the guards' slippers are padded, you won't hear them)..

The only sound you can hear is yourself..
The only things you see is the white all around you

People subjected to that are basically scarred for life.. and would never recover after that.
