Zoro hasn't obtained the power needed to kill Kaido. Zoro, like Luffy, needs time to grow stronger.

Luffy grew stronger during the rooftop battle. Zoro obtained ACOC but can't use it freely. He will learn to during his battle with King.

Which would have killed the other 4 useless sacks of shit he was with if not for him
Even then wasn't enough to keep him down as he still had enough power to do more damage in one attack than luffy with multiple attacks accidentally using something luffy knows how to use.
