THIS is just how Swordsmanship looks like in modern One Piece media: full of bright colors, auras, impact effects, and a fuckton of useless SFX.

Toei Anime depicts it that way, Movies depict it that way, Video Games depict it that way, and even Oda depicts it that way (albeit less exaggerated)

and I promise you, Mihawk fighting in the future WILL look like this too.

At this point even if shanks has something else he'd still be a swordsman. Kaku was a Martial artist and df user but still a swordsman. Cabaji uses tricks a unicycle fire and acrobatics still a swordsman. Brook uses ice soul powers and music still a swordsman. Shanks is a swordsman by any stretch it's not a argument anymore.
