General & Others Imagine if Wano was your first arc in One Piece jorney...

#1
As title said, just imagine if this arc was your first arc that read or watch in One Piece, would you really enjoy it that much that you will be interested to read 900 chapters?! I'm not talking even about Ennies Lobby, Marinford arcs. As for me, Wano arc easily lose to any pretimeskip arcs, and even post time skip arc seemed much better than this arc.
Litteraly even Thriller Bark was much better than this arc, same thing could be said about Skypia, while TB and Skypia was known as worst arc in pretimeskip One Piece.
And there's reason why that happened in this arc and WCI:
1. Character depelopment and potraying:
This is the most SOS reason why Wano arc is that bad. It seems that author didn't know how to deal with characters and fact that they are much stronger than Luffy. He used the wothless way to hold situation: Oda made everyone dumb, no this is wrong word, to suscribe that....Oda turn everyone into the ultimate fools and idiots. Like any pretimeskip villain is much smarter than Younko Commanders and Younko themselves. Just compare Buggy, Kuro and Don Krigg with Kaido, Big Mom, King, Queen, Katakuri, Cracker and Lady Smoothie. Cmmon even Kaboji and Nyaban brothers are potrayed smarter than those fools. I'm not even talking about other Veterans like Compote who litteraly did nothing. I mean Mr. 3 was smarter than all of them taken together.
But to be honest Oda did this horrible mistake even before timeskip with for example Rob Luchi who just didn't kill Luffy when he was little, jump away to fail, but that happened only once, while now litteraly everyone became idiots, plot became joke and opponent crew turn into the circus itself.
2. Hype used for nothing:
How long we all was teased with great expectations, which didn't turn into anything that could made as feel satisfied. Why that happened, and why there's so much hype used for nothing?!
Well this problem comes from first part, when characters was showed as fools, how you could expect readers to be hyped with em? That bring into live moments that was used just for hype, like BM chasing SH on ship, Cracker with Luffy fight, Jack with Zou and much more. Like imagine if Satori was showef like a fool? In Skypia arc it was clear that Luffy and co was stronger than anyone in Skypia, but Satori who used crazy power mantra made us feel interesting at the very minimum. While in Wano and WCI opponents for real just doing nothing, only fodders here are shine: enraged army, gifters. Why fodders? Because Oda has no problem in writing them....they are weaker than MC and SH, so no reason to turn em into absolute fools.
With that said there's nothing unbeliaveble that World building chapters are always great and much better than any chapter of arc. Why? Because Oda didn't have to change everyone into idiots.
So plot in One Piece for now is good written only in World bulding chaptets, almost every chapter in Wano is trash for me.
Compared to any other arc, I feel that I would be interested to watch One Piece even if Thriller Bark was my first arc, and still I even can's say same about Wano.
What do you feel about Wano arc, and would you be interested to read 900 chapters if Wano arc was your first arc?

P.S.Wano better than Marinford Oda, for real?!

I'd quit one piece after 30 chapters.

Kaido's crew is almost entirely made from people he has conquered and he wants to go to war with the marines, makes sense to add someone stronger even than King in his crew if he is able to. I don't view this as stupidity given the fact it has worked so many times already for Kaido's favor,

But yeah the pacing of Wano is not meant to be read on a weekly basis at all, it is getting ridiculous with the corona breaks.

Dressrosa before the Doflamingo fight was almost unbearable with Luffy slowly riding on a bull to climb up to Doflamingo rather than rocket up there instantaneously.

Sooo what's your point? Satori actually was potraited cool.
As for others, they was exactly just scrubs, they wasn't right hand man or even main villain, you shoud already post Foxy here, but than again Foxy was SMART, he never was a fool, and was close to defeat Luffy, actually Luffy won just because of his luck, nothing more.
Also Bellamy wasn't portraited like a fool, his role was in absolutely different, and he played it well.

Wano is too massive an arc to be an effective intro. It relies heavily on pre-existing ideas and characters to tell its story, and it has too many of those in it, that the reader would lose focus and not know what to latch onto.

This doesn't mean Wano is a terrible arc in its totality. Just that it's a far from ideal intro arc.

Wano so far been great and even without build ups from previous arcs it would still be a cool arc to watch as a get go.

Overall this arc easily the best arc after timeskip and among top 5 in the whole of one piece arcs .

I believe that once this arc finishes, those who didn't read the arc week by week and then followed discussions in OP forums and social media thus get affected by other viewes would enjoy this arc a lot during their binge reading.

If any post ts arc other than Zoo or reverie was my first arc i would've quit op for sure
If Zou was my first arc probably I would drop OP too.

I meant OP is shonen and often grouped together with other famous action shonens like Bleach, Naruto and Fairy Tail.
Yet Zou gave long flashback about a cruel villain Jack. He ended up defeating the whole island of Zou and crucified their dukes. Having read that I would expect the main characters (Straw Hats) to fight against him and his men in the arc. Minks could help them too after Inuarashi teased their secret power up.

Only to have the mighty Jack and his whole army got 1 shotted by the giant elephant. Wtf lmao. What an anticlimatic ending for my first arc.

Why you still reading one piece. since Orojackson forums you never for once said a good thing about one piece.

I prefer pre-ts One Piece. There was something innocent about it. Maybe the way it was drawn or something.
Also the world felt a bit bigger because we did not know a lot of the new stuff. Plus, the protagonists felt like ants compared to other baddies.

Very normal behavior to start reading a series with the most recent arc rather than the beginning of the whole thing. Wonder how much we’d understand about DBZ if we started in the Majin Buu saga. Y’all only dislike this arc because it’s not living up to your expectations, which you only had because you’ve followed the series for a long time and understand what’s going on. Not sure why someone who wants to get into One Piece or any other manga would decide to start at the end like that.

Well if I were to start with Wano, I would be very much interested in rest of the One piece. I am enjoying Wano like many other majority of viewers with exceptions of few awful chapters.

Oh, btb question should be 'How much one can enjoy Wano arc without forum discussions and not associate with keyboardwarriors?'. I would enjoy it very much like many other in One piece fandom because no nutcase will spoil their One piece experience with childish tantrums.
