Imagine other series offscreened top tier fights as much as Oda do....even during the FINAL SAGA!

Imagine the first time we get top tiers from 2 of strongest factions fight each other, and the fight ends up being subpar (we only get few pages of the fight)

Just imagine when Jiraita fights Pain and its offscreened or doesn't really live up to the hype necaude we only get 4 pages where they clash and timsekip to the end.
Imagine Madara vs Hokage is 80% offscreeen and it ends in few pages onscreen

Name an arc there wasn't any fight! Even offscreened /flashback...
The series literally has lots of fights which Oda uses to hype for.
Luffy's PK dream is battle oriented as he himself said it many times, he'd beat Yonko and Admirals to become PK.

One Piece is a battle adventurous Manga.
All this copium about "it's not focused on Fights" is a lie
Even Oda made G5 so that he could have fun while drawing Luffy's fights (per his own words) Not because "Luffy has to have fun sailing around in g5"
If this series wasn't about fights, Luffy wouldn't be having 5 gears nor wanting to beat villains in every arc to be PK. Even people come to him "save us, please beat X for us". So please spare me the lies.

Imagine HxH (adventurous manga too), Bleach, Naruto,...treated top tier fights the same way Oda does.

Luffy v. Kizaru has been shit so far.

I'm sure Oda will disappoint with GV fights too.
Oden clashing with WB/Roger & WB clashing with Roger were also shit in the Oden flashback, just few hype panels & nothing much.
I doubt God Valley will be any different.

Nobody, not even biggest OP downplayer like @lee33 imagined Wano, arc hyped for years. And Luffy vs Kizaru, Luffy's first serious fight against an Admiral, same Admiral who caused the timeskip to happen; will be as bad as this.

You hate Zoro so you obviously don't like his Fights
You enjoy Fights of Nami? Usopp? Franky? ... etc
And aside from SHs, there are barely any Fights between Secondary Characters (Unless it's an irrelevant one against some Extra Henchman)
Only Fight we've seen was Ace vs BB & only some of it

You can't say One Piece is a Manga that focuses on Fights like Bleach or Naruto or OPM or DBZ ... etc
When literally only Relevant Fights are Luffy's

Stop expecting to see anyone other than Luffy give an impressive Fight, maybe once in a while for some SH, but that's it.
And Oda's Comment about G5 does indeed apply on Luffy alone, not entire Manga, there are many other statements where He said He doesn't like drawing Fight Scenes much & that He doesn't wanna focus on them too much

And Luffy's Fights tend to be Dramatic, They are more about what they mean rather than a spectacle of abilities.
And so far, Kaidou's Fight is Popular, Kata's Fight is Popular, Lucci's Fight is Popular, Crocodile, Doflamingo, Arlong, even Blueno ... etc

I think problem with OP Fans is that they Expect what was never promised in this Manga.

I enjoy the one piece fights and the only fights that are really off screened are fights that have nothing to do with the main cast theres already nearly 1100 chapters if he took the time to flush out every fight then we'd probably wouldnt be in the final saga rn and the ones that are shown are pretty epic plenty of one piece fights people still talk about to this day Luffy vs Lucci, Luffy vs Usopp , Zoro vs Daz, Luffy vs Katakuri

Only fight that's ever bought up in Naruto is Gaara vs Rock Lee or one of the many times Naruto and Sauske fought, madara vs the alliance on occasion.

Bleach only fight I ever heard about from this Fandom is ichigo vs aizen up until twby

HxH only fight thats even worth mentioning is netero vs meruem

One piece fights are fantastic are some off screened yes, are they the absolute best heavens no Tenjho Tenge arguably has the best fights either that or the fate series (Fate Zero in particular)

Luffy V Kizaru was pretty good considering the fact that it isn't Luffy's main fight. Its obvious he had bigger fish to fry (Saturn). This also disproves the "OdA DoEsN'T CaRe AbOuT PoWeRsCaLiNg" nonsense. Oda obviously made Saturn get involved and start fighting because he himself is aware that admirals ain't up there with Yonkos to give Luffy a real brutal extreme diff fight that Kaido did. He himself sees that admirals are not powerful enough to be the next step up from Kaido. Its obviously gonna be Saturn that does that. Even so, Oda gave Luffy a ton of fights this arc, call back to his vow back in Amazon Lily where he vowed to get stronger then all the people that annihilated him and his crew on Sabody and drawing him beating them all. But at the end of the day, Luffy had bigger fish to fry. AKA Saturn.
In either case, I'm a bit worried he won't give God Valley justice, considering Garp V Aokiji was a bit mid.

GV will just be a clash similar to Oden vs Kaido, two pages or something similar, we will never have an entire battle drawn in the flashback. Oda cares about Luffy's fights, the rest not much.

I don't really expect much from Oda anymore when it comes to top tier battles. Kaido vs Luffy was garbage. Kaido spammed the same moves and Luffy came back to life atleast 36 times.

Zoro vs King was sweet but way too short. BM vs Kidd/Law was pretty disappointing. Luffy vs Katakuri was okay, but again, Luffy took way too much damage to be believable in winning the fight, even for OP standards.

Now that we know Luffy's G5 form is what it is, that kind of hurts the hype for Blackbeard vs Luffy and Akainu vs Luffy. Now we know it won't be as serious as it should be because Luffy/Joy Boy will be laughing the whole time.

Luffy vs Kizaru is utter trash so far. Nika vs Imu will be toon comedy.

So yeah, God Valley will probably be a huge disappointment.

God Valley is definitely going to be disappointing once it's fully revealed, at least in the action department.

I hope Oda reveals lots of interesting lore stuff... but i'm not going to get my hopes up till Oda gives me a reason

God Valley fights are going to be like Roger vs WB or Oden vs Kaido.
We'll see a few attacks and the outcome. And it's fine, it's just a flashback, it's not supposed to be full fledged fights. We already know who won, most of these people are retired or even dead for some of them.

Oda doesn't care anymore, he opens Facebook, finds something funny, and implements it in the manga without even considering what the readers will think. The Kizaru vs. Luffy fight has been the most disappointing in the series since Luffy is too strong for him. Against Kaido, Oda could do whatever he wanted because he could simply draw Kaido rising from G5 Luffy's attacks in succession and thus force Luffy to try something stronger each time until he reached his limit, which is his island-sized fist coated with barrier, Ryou, and Conqueror's Haki. Here in EGG, we don't have that because Kizaru will go to sleep with just one hit.

The narrative created for this fight has no weight at all. In Luffy's eyes, Vegapunk is just a complete stranger, and this doesn't even compare to the significance of defeating Kaido and freeing people from slavery, hunger, and death in Wano, lifting the country out of poverty, cleaning up polluted rivers. Not to mention that Wano seems to be a crucial point in the story and world-changing events: ancient weapons located there, Road Poneglyphs produced there, the country of samurai, Oden, Joyboy's coming, the borders, ancient history about the Land of Gold, and many other things. When Luffy defeated Kaido, he took an important step toward his goal of becoming the Pirate King by obtaining a Road Poneglyph from Kaido. Here, we have none of that; it's just a worthless slave following orders from his boss.
