In the sands of Alabasta resided a king of great character and virtue
For years now his mind was puzzled with what was false and true
Never a man of ego he kept his "common touch"
Loving his people even when things were tough
Yet abandoned by them through a conspiracy thicker than kelp
When that obstacle came his way he overcame it with some help
Humbling himself to his benefectors he expressed gratefulness
He is a King who showcased the highest selflessness
Pushing his daughter to achieve greatness that she could
He challenged the mighty Gods for he understood
That the future of the world lays in the answers of the past
A world that the new generation must now craft
An entity among monarchs of the world this man is distinguished
Sacrificing his life to prevent a bright flame from being extinguished
On the brink of death only the truth of the past escapes his mouth
It is to be acknowledged by all that the 12th King of Albasta was mighty and proud

Short tribute to one of my fav characters in the series. I had hoped he would've played a greater role, but I love how Oda did his final moments. A man came from the sands to the highest peak of the world to attain answers. In the process he ends up confronting the very gods of the world themselves. In that confrontation he gives his life for a budding flame of change for the truth to get out. Couldn't have asked for a better ending.

R.I.P King Cobra
