Never thought a series that revolved around pirates would put off doing that this long

Tho ngl, I'd like to see a sea battle
You gotta keep in mind pirates in real life rarely walked the plank, it's more of element of fiction. I guess that's one more way Oda could kill fodder. I remember Luffy being tied up and thrown into the sea in one of the Romance Dawns.
The end of WCI was pretty much a sea battle:
- Carrot taking out Daifuku's fleet.
- Big Mom's power almost drowning the Sunny in a tidal wave.
- The Sun Pirates appeared to sink and divide the Big Mom Pirates.
- Oven burning the fishman and then fighting Aladine
- The Strawhats with Jinbe fighting Big Mom on the Sunny
I'm not sure what more you're looking for here. Ships firing cannons? The Swirlyhats countered the Queen Mama Chanter's firepower and sent its cannonballs right back. Two ships boarding each other? Bon Clay did against Hina's unit and lost his ship in the process. Pirates boarding a foreign ship? Crocodile, Mr. 1, Jinbe and Buggy hijacked a marine battleship.
