I am still team Yamato but I am getting warmer to the idea that Hancock is the final Strawhat. My BB vs SH match ups list would be screwed if Yamato didn't join, I thought. But Yamato's opponent, Devon, fits just as good as the opponent for Hancock. Devon decapitates beautiful women, and Hancock is known as the most beautiful woman. Hancock as all three Haki types, so she is strong enough.
Hancock was introduced already more than 10 years ago. Not a last minute character like Yamato, Carrot or someone we don't even know yet. She has a crew, but so did Jinbe. She can't stay at her homeland anymore. Does she have a dream? Probably the disposing of the Celestial Dragons and the freeing of the slaves still in Maryjoa. Would she have a role on the ship? Don't know.
How would she come to join? Well, she might have been captured. Marineford 2.0 will soon take place. She gets rescued and joins the Strawhats.
